So. You've watched the trailer, seen a cartload of screenshots, and even read up on our feature about the multiplayer maps. Well, sit tight soldier cuz now we bring you the intro video of SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 2! The video lets us have a quick-see of some of the environments and maps featured on the game, as well as how the explosions and gunfire will look like on your handhelds' screens. Some of the characters' stats are also briefly flashed before us, and we say briefly because it takes no more than two seconds to appear on the screen. Nonetheless, the video still does a lot to satiate the SOCOM cravings and whatever withdrawal symptoms that some of you die-hard SOCOM fanatics may be experiencing. And just to refresh your memory, the game will support online play via Infrastructure Mode, as well as console-to-PSP connectivity. Still under development at the Zipper Interactive base camp, SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 2 is set to hit the shelves on November 7. Zipper Interactive's SOCOM: U. S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 2
is a second helping of the series on the PSP handheld system. It seems
that this one's taken up a notch from the first game in just about
every aspect- from maps to missions and inter-game connectivity. Fireteam Bravo 2 will no doubt be a hit with the PSP's burgeoning FPS community.
To give you a tantalizing taste of what you'll get in Fireteam Bravo 2, Zipper Interactive has decided to reveal a few details on each of the game's 12 available multiplayer maps. Let's get on with it, starting with the new maps.
First off is Silent Canyon. In this map, players will face off against each other across two farming areas connected by caves and a twisting path over a small hill. The caves alone offer a lot of blind-curve action, and the hill is also sure to see a lot of action going on as people try to stake out a spot and prey on those who pass by down below. Set in a hidden poppy farm within a remote valley, Silent Canyon is playable with up to 16 players in Demolition, Extraction, Free For All, Intel Grab, Suppression, Target, and Tug-of-War.
Next up is Bad Habit. This one features a warehouse, so there's bound to be plenty of hiding spots. If you're not careful you can get yourself blown to bits in this map, as it is littered with highly explosive barrels. Bad Habit is playable with up to 16 players in Demolition, Extraction, Free For All, Intel Grab, Suppression, Target, and Tug-of-War. More multiplayer maps await after the jump! |

If there's one thing about Zipper Interactive's SOCOM series that sticks to your mind, it's the beautiful sound of gunfire. Ever since the first SOCOM Fireteam Bravo came out, there's been a wonderful little market on the PSP for Kalashnikovity - the utter beating of your enemies with machine guns made in 1947 through your WiFi connection. Luckily for us, the day of Fireteam Bravo 2 gets ever closer, and someone's posted a demo! In this demo for the game we found on YouTube, we're introduced to one of the missions you have to complete. You have to go up a mountain and look for a helicopter that got shot down, and find out who took the bird down. Chances are, it's a terrorist, since they're littering the mountain anyway. Go take 'em out soldier! Buy: [Fireteam Bravo 2] |

With a name like SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 2, you really do tend to run out of puns eventually. We were planning on calling this, "Fire in My Hole! A SOCOM Trailer!" or "Bravo! A Trailer For SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 2!" but they just felt overused.
Anyway, someone's finally gotten the short trailer for this game from the Sony site onto youtube for everyone to enjoy. It's short, at 35 seconds, but it's still a delight to watch. With better graphics, new maps, and a lot of people in makeup running around with guns, Zipper's SOCOM FB2 is looking to be a highly-anticipated PSP game. Wait for its release in the 4th quarter, and practice your sniping in the meantime. Thanks to Buckling for putting it up. |

Roughly five minutes after the PSP hit store shelves whispers began circulating around the net that a redesign was in the cards, these rumors rose to a mild rumbling as gamers began to realise that while the PSP was sexy looking piece of kit, it did have a number of design flaws. Find out whether the PSP should be redesigned, abandoned completely, or left just the way it is, after the jump! |
