The sixth week of PSN Spring Fever features the usual truckload of add-ons, trailers, and the ever-present Rock Band and Guitar Hero tracks. Spearheading today's batch is Wheel of Fortune and the LBP Killzone Mini-pack. Karaoke Revolution
also features songs that certainly put the movie mood on, but they're
the American Idol versions though. Check the list inside for a some of
the content. |

It seems dark420bishop has decided to make an application no one's managed to create just yet, and the discussion for it is getting pretty hot, what with all the insinuations of porn and all. The app, called VideoPSpy, allows users to keep private videos on their PSP without arousing suspicion. Here's what dark420bishop explained about his new application: The program will appear as a calculator application with the name "BASIC Calculator" in your XMB. The calculator program is functional, it's code is copied (with permission) from the calculator code included in Shine's Lua Player 0.20 with a few minor alterations. The only way to see your private videos is to enter the correct code sequence into the calculator. The program swaps your 100MNV02 directory with the regular 100MNV01 directory, replacing your regular videos with the private videos. Running the program again reverses the process, restoring your regular videos and hiding your private videos. VideoPSpy has some interesting uses. For one thing, it keeps people from accessing your own stash of videos. A quick set of button presses can also let you hide your videos while letting you access something educational (if you have the Good News Bible, for example) to keep teachers off guard about what you're doing. More importantly, no one will ever find out your addiction to Taylor Hicks and American Idol, you cad, you. Enjoy the application, and don't forget to check the readme for installation instructions. Aside from Rub'a'Dub being revealed during the D.I.C.E. Summit, Phil Harrison gave two other interesting points that a couple of you might have either been eagerly waiting or hoping for.
Loco Roco sequel already in the works Last December, it was reported that a sequel for the bouncy, blobby game of Loco Roco would be getting a sequel. Today, we get confirmation that it's already in the works - so much so now that even Phil Harrison himself was already able to play an early version of it "on the way" to the Summit. Unfortunately, he didn't reveal much and no release date was revealed. Singstar this Spring It's not only the Loco Roco blobs that'll be singing under the rays of a smiling sun. Phil gave a demo of the Singstar, which will be released this spring. The singing-sim will allow you to download songs via the PlayStation Network and you'd even be able to upload your own videos (taken from a USB camera) of yourself singing so that other users could rate it. Although the latest season of "American Idol" is well underway now, who says you can't do your own singing on your Sony device? Whether you've got a PSP or PS3, expect some vocal chords to try your patience this year, whether from squeaky-sounding blobs or tone-deaf siblings. And this time, there's no Simon Cowell to save your soul. More on Phil Harrison's D.I.C.E. Summit talk behind the "Read" link below. |

With a lot of good RPG titles headed for the PSP this year, it might be good to see what we have to be thankful for. No, this isn't some mushy mid-life (or post-puberty/Emo) reflection. What we had in mind was a look back at some titles on the other end of the spectrum, the sort that Pocket Gamer declares as "The Top 10 worst PSP games." For the moment, at least. As a teaser, here's what was said about the Dave Mirra BMX Challenge: It hasn't come out in Europe yet. Let's pray it doesn't. A game so poor that even the higher-marking US review sites have given it sub-4/10 scores, from what we've seen it is like a half-finished game somebody found lying around from five years ago that they put into a disc-shrinking box to get it on the PSP's UMD. (We haven't reviewed it yet. Fingers crossed we won't have to). Other titles mentioned included Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie, TalkMan, Taito Legends Power Up. Now, going back to the titled mentioned above, we doubt they were sourcing IGN - who were not as forgiving as the score above. If you guys have any title in mind that fits the bill for this particular "Top 10," do share. For the guys who want to view the full list, click on the read link. |
