Konami just released a handful of new screenshots for the new PSP-compatible digital graphic novel MGS: Bande Dessinee 2. This was first announced last year by no less than Hideo Kojima himself and is heavily based on PlayStation 2 title Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty.

Konami's character designer Ashley Wood was responsible for the graphics of the new novel and according to reports, a good portion of Bande Dessinee 2 will follow the perspective of Snake instead of Raiden's. This is an interesting decision from the developers and will most possibly help fans understand further what's going on in the series.

It was recently announced by Konami that the original work Bande Dessinee will come bundled with the new novel. Aside from that, it was also confirmed that it will now have voice-acting. No pricing and release date was mentioned so far. While waiting for further details, just enjoy the new screenshots!

TGS 2007: Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops 2 coming soon - Image 1

We know that Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops+ has yet to landfall in North America (November 13), so this bit of news coming straight from the Makuhari Messe in Chiba City should interest fans of Metal Gear Solid. The PlayStation Portable title will soon get a sequel, as blogged by Ashley Wood himself - the concept artist to be involved in the game's development.

Wood has worked with Konami Digital and Kojima before, so this probably would be a cakewalk for the Australian illustrator. Details on the game's features and facets were not reported as of press time, and clues as the the game's continuation or focus of story was not revealed either.

We hope to get more information regarding the Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops 2 game while the Tokyo Game Show continues on to the weekend, so keep your eyes glued to this space for developments.

Budget Bin Review: Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops - Image 1

Konami has given the Sony PlayStation Portable crowd a taste of its flagship Metal Gear games with the Metal Gear Acid series. The Acid games took a break from the tactical espionage action template that has made the series famous and placed Solid Snake in a turn-based game with cards fronting the combat aspect. Mixed reactions ensued from fans and pundits, asking for a more traditional approach to the series. And though the Acid series were as good a spin-off as anyone could ask for, Konami just had to listen to the people.

Enter Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops which is a direct sequel to Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Series creator Hideo Kojima takes his role as producer of this chapter in the unfolding  MGS storyline and lets director Masahiro Yamamoto guide the franchise closer back to its sneaky roots. The result is a truly amazing experience which combines a gripping storyline with a breed of old and new gameplay elements which will challenge even seasoned series veterans. If you missed out on this title a few months ago, there's no better time to make up for that mistake than now.

The full review awaits after the jump!

RaidenIt seems the warm response of the PSP fans on Metal Gear Solid Digital Comic has inspired Konami to come up with a sequel. Hideo Kojima, in the latest issue of Famitsu, has revealed that another MGS digital comic for the PSP is under development. This time around, it's going to be based on Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty.

The digital comic will apparently follow the same plot as that of Sons of Liberty's. Raiden still plays the part of the main character, while Snake remains the unloved counterpart. Expect Ashley Wood's feature artwork to spice up the graphics.

As for now, there isn't even an official name for the game yet, and plans for the release still aren't known. More updates about the second Metal Gear Digital Comic comes here at QJ, so keep reading.
