Heads up, PSP homebrew users! Coder Auraomega has just sent us an email, informing us that Open Beta 3 for XMB replacement Project4 has just been released.

Bad news brewing in the homebrew scene of the Sony PlayStation Portable: it seems that the nightmare of every coder out there has happened to PSP homebrew developer Auraomega, and it looks like it means the end of Project4. Had problems with installing the latest beta release of Auraomega's Project4? Well, the PlayStation Portable homebrew developer sent us word on the possible solution: Some people may not have read the readme file. The dev has good reason (bricking) to make his app a bit unfriendly to those who didn't give the readme a once over. For Auraomega's entire statement, click the link below.

As developer Auraomega promised earlier, the second beta release of the Project4 XMB homebrew replacement is now available for download.

The Principle of One states that any project can be completed in time if it's broken down into smaller, more manageable pieces. Homebrew developer Auraomega, it seems, has been doing precisely that: various updates have been coming in regarding the Project4 XMB application for Sony's portable console.

 Xsjado7 informed us earlier that work has been completed on what seems to be the first theme flasher application for Auraomega's Project4 XMB replacement. The application handles very much like a standard XMB flasher app, and is current capable of handling up to three themes at the same time. Details are available in the full article.

Project4 developer Auraomega has informed us that a poster on the Darkmessiah  forums named DrBaronVonEvilSatan has found a way to launch the PSP's XMB while running Project4. Details in the full article.

Project4 is a homebrew application that offers a full replacement for your PSP's XMB. As much as it is an excellent program, its initial release didn't go as smoothly as planned after several users encountered bugs.
