Becus25 has now come out to deliver rGameboot Utility v0.2 to all followers of the PSP homebrew scene. This application generates an opening_plugin for rgameboot and allows users to select the root of the program. If you've been using an older version of the application, this release can be considered safer since it now checks if the drive written is in either ms0 or flash. If it finds that it isn't in either format, the application will output "false" and refuse to generate the opening_plugin. Other PSP coders will be pleased to know that the source code for the program was also released and is included in the compressed file. As with all homebrew, remember to go over all the documentation before doing anything to prevent any unwanted problems with the PSP. Homebrew coder becus25 rolled out a new build of the application rGameboot bringing it up to version 1.1. This is really a surprise release, seeing that it's been a while since the developer updated the program. rGameboot stands for Random Gameboot and gives users the ability to randomize a total of three gameboots. Version 1.1 comes with a Windows-compatible utility called rGameboot utility. This particular part of the plugin allows for generating a new opening_plugin.prx and where you will select the root to load the gameboots. becus25 also said that the plugin uses the autoboot during operation. rGameboot v1.1 comes with a Readme.txt file containing vital information for the program to work. If you are still unsure on how to use this, you can discuss the release with other users through the forum link below. The coder also mentioned that the application was tested using DAX's CFW 3.40 OE. Download: rGameboot v1.1 Visit: QJ PSP Development Forum |

It looks like the homebrew community is going to lose another developer for some time - to school. Well, it's not a bad thing and it's good to have priorities. To make up for another absence, becus25 has released an upgraded version of Vsh Resource Manager, or Vrm, and made the source code public.Vsh Resource Manager is basically a theme flashing application that sports custom firmware support (OE, M33, and Wildc*rd). For version 1.0, becus25 worked some kinks out and added other functions into the homebrew app. Here's the complete list from the dev's release thread:

It seems Becus25 isn't completely done with the homebrew scene yet! Over on our forums, we found out that Becus25 has released another piece of homebrew for users to try out for their PSPs, called Vsh Resource Manager v0.10a. Vsh Resource Manager is a theme flashing application for your PSP. According to Becus25, it uses the virtual keyboard (or OSK) found in the folder of the themes to work. Becus25 also states that the Vsh Resource Manager only works perfectly on FW 1.50, though if you're tech-savvy enough, you can try updating his work to work in tandem with OE or M33 firmwares. The PSP homebrew developer also notes that he won't be having a lot of time to code for the homebrew scene in the next few weeks, so he plans on releasing the code to the public eventually. In the meantime, those who want to try patching this application may want to check the readme first before doing so. That being said, feel free to download the app and see how it works for you. A bit of bad news for the PSP homebrew community, and those of us who reap the benefits of their labors: one of today's up-and-coming coders, becus25, has recently announced that he's leaving the scene on a sad note. We get you all the details of this rather unfortunate turn of events. The news comes directly from becus25's own blog, with only a single entry that holds his final message to the homebrew scene. Fortunately, he also included an English version of his farewell letter. Here it is, verbatim:
Definitively I am not in a good moment. They have been several things that have happened these days which I want neither to remember nor to mention anything. I leave the scene.
The code of the IE will not be thrown for personal reasons. I sit it. A greeting. Certainly a sad day indeed. We wish becus25 the best of luck with his future endeavors, and give him thanks for all the work he's put into contributing to the homebrew scene as we know of it. |

Homebrew developer becus25 has just released a new build of his own PlayStation Portable custom firmware, bumping it up to 1.62 IE-D Update5. Aside from the many features that come with every release, one of main function of this CFW is that it allows users to have two different firmwares at once. The coder mentioned that those interested to use this should be sure that their PSP units are running on Sony's official FW 1.50. It was also said that this build is not compatible with TA-082 to 86. With all that said, here's the changelog for Custom Firmware 1.62 IE-D Update5:
