It's sad to say, but another homebrew developer is leaving the homebrew scene. ManiacX is quitting after the release of CSP Development Studio version 3.0. Among his reasons for leaving were school obligations, acquiring a new 360 with plans to make developments there, Fanjita's retirement, and the lack of appreciation for all the hard work from ungrateful people.ManiacX will be leaving something behind for the homebrew community though. The app CSP Development Studio is a Window-based IDE for PSP homebrew developers looking for an easy-to-use application. Like the previous CSP v2.2 release, a readme file isn't available, which means you'll have to find out what's new and what's been fixed in this latest version. What the dev tells us about the app though, is that a version of Cygwin is integrated with support for libraries. Apparently, you'll need 500MB of free disk space and 512MB RAM to run this version of CSP at minimum. Further updates in the future will be provided by a different homebrew developer called Blade Hunter. Download: CSP Development Studio v3.0 Visit: QJ.NET PSP Development Forums |

Oops. This one almost fell through the cracks over the weekend (but it's not too late to report on it). Anyway, Game Structure Utility was patched by BlackVenom for 3.40 OE-A: "This utility for windows can reorder the games in PSP/GAME, PSP/GAME150, PSP/GAME340, ISO. The only thing I added to this was the support for GAME340."
Game Structure Utility is a PC-based application by HunterTeam - that's Blade Hunter (bhunter in the QJ.NET PSP Development Forum) and friends. This nifty homebrew application for PlayStation Portable owners lets you change the order of the GAME menu of your PSP units ("sort of like how iTunes manages your iPod's playlist," said QJ.NET correspondent Tim Y.). In other words, if you have a lot of homebrew and junk, and if you're having trouble finding your favorite apps or games, then you can use Game Structure Utility to move your favorites to the top of the list (or bottom, or wherever) so you can find them right away. A little less than a month ago. PSP homebrew coder and QJ.Net Forum resident Blade Hunter (aka bhunter in the forums) released the PSP Game Structure Utility tool for use among the PSP community. For the guys who weren't around when this homebrew was released, it's a PC-based application that allows PSP users to reorganize their PSP's GAME menu to an order of their choice - sort of like how iTunes manages your iPod's playlist. With that said, we're announcing a minor update to this application. As bhunter explained, "The old one scanned GAME/GAME150/GAME303 little did I know that the GAME303 increments with the CFW version. The new version will scan GAME/GAME150/GAME*. Of course, it still scans the ISO folder and sorts everything for you." We further note that PSP Game Structure Utility requires .NEt framework to run. Aside from the update, bhunter is expecting to get help on this project soon, which in turn means possible updates in the near future. Guys who'd like to hear the details of bhunter's plans, or want to share their ideas for future features, can head over to the application's release thread at the QJ.Net Forums. Enjoy the download. We know how much of a hassle it is to scroll around your XMB just to access a certain homebrew game, application, or (your latest little gem) Daedalus R9. All your old game uploads in the Memory Stick get buried and pushed down as you add new stuff in, so it sort of gets tedious to wade through all of those newer files (not to mention a whole slew of Corrupted Data files) just to get to something that you've been keeping since Day One. Blade Hunter (known as bhunter in our forums) posted a solution to this in our forums. Although he released it a couple of days ago, that doesn't mean it's too late to put it up on the front page - especially if it's something this helpful. His PSP Game Structure Utility runs on your PC and allows you to organize your files just the way you want them to appear on the XMB. It's pretty straight-forward, click-click-click an' all that jazz. The process involves compiling your list to be uploaded on your PSP - sort of like how you'd create playlists on iTunes for your iPod - and you can take a look at the readme for the full instructions on how to work the utility.
