In a week filled with industry news, we ended up with a rather sparse recap of the big PSP-specific news that graced the QJ.NET PSP blog. The PSP Go -- or rather, retailers who are feeling a bit miffed by Sony's decision to go download-only for the Go -- was there to pick up the slack. Game-wise, we got a couple more updates as Capcom gears up for this week's Monster Hunter Freedom Unite release as well as more import news and some pre-order goodies for Dissidia, as if fans didn't have enough reason to buy it. Thanks to Japanese magazine Shonen Jump, we finally gain a peek at the first screens of Bleach: Soul Carnival 2, at least via scans. Still carrying a TBA release date for Japan, and no word on whether it will even cross to Western shores, I say this is still a cool treat, especially for Bleach: Soul Carnival fans.

It sure took them long enough, but Square Enix finally managed to pin down a specific date for Dissidia: Final Fantasy's US launch this week. The good news was still tainted with some bad, however: Rock Band: Unplugged got leaked onto the Internets three weeks before its official release date. On second thought, whether this is good news or bad news depends entirely on your stance regarding the piracy issue. So did you save your data of your previous Bleach: Heat the Soul games? If you did, well and good for you, cos these data will unlock new characters for you in Bleach: Heat the Soul 6. There are also more details and a video for you after the jump.

The Japanese mag Shonen Jump has provided more info on Bleach: Heat The Soul 6's different gameplay modes. Along with the new gameplay modes, new moves were also revealed for some of Soul Society's resident shinigami.

Aside from an updated roster of playable characters, Bleach: Heat the Soul 6 also includes one other big thing: Championship mode. Think of it as some sort of career mode with lots of skill customization on your part. Get into the arena for a vid showing just that.

Whether you're asking for it or not, the latest installment for Bleach: Heat the Soul is already coming out in Japan next month. Three new trailers have been released to anticipate the game's release on May 15. What's more is that one of the trailers show Aizen, Tosen, and Risa.

The non-Japanese fanbase of anime-based fighting games are a small but rabid bunch. For every article about a Bleach game that's not getting a US release there's always at least a couple of people cursing SCEI for not localizing it. Those looking for an overseas release of Fate/Unlimited Codes Portable, however, won't have to curse as much.

If you're an avid Bleach fan, you might be interested in knowing that the latest game in the series, Bleach: Heat The Soul 6, has finally been green-lighted for a May 14 release in Japan.
