bumuckl and the rest of the Nitr0core team have just announced the release of their Motion Pong PSP homebrew game. It's a Pong title that makes use of motion sensitivity instead of the PSP's standard controls. In this case, the motion controls require you to have the NeoFlash Team's PSP Motion Kit. More details and a demo video for Motion Pong v0.1 are available in the full article. Download: Motion Pong v0.1 Visit: QJ.NET PSP Development Forum |

Bumuckl from QJ's PSP Development Forums has been hard at work since the release of Bermuda CS 7 'patched' to bring us an update to his portable image editing studio for the PSP. Today that hard work has paid off with the hopefully bug-free release of Bermuda CS 8. Many new features have been added, including the option to add your own fonts and brushes in order to customize Bermuda CS. However, bug fixes was the name of the game and along with the 'thousands' of bugs that bumuckl has fixed for this release comes a lot of code optimizations to make Bermuda CS run faster and more smoothly on the PSP. Let's just say it runs a lot faster than Photoshop does on QJ Office computers! Anyway, back on topic, here's the giant changelog:

Homebrew developer bumuckl dropped by QJ.NET PSP Development Forum and released a very excellent clone of the successful game franchise Pokemon. This particular iteration is known as Pocketmon Quecksilver and is actually a community project of online site PSPSource.de. We have to say that this is one of the more immersive homebrew games that we had in months and we really had fun playing it. Staying true to the original Pokemon games, Pocketmon Quecksilver allows you to fight other Pokemon owners as well as visit different establishments such as the Pokemon Health Center and Pokemon Store. Also, we'd like to commend the graphics of this homebrew game especially during Pokemon battles. We can't help but be amused when we see our Pokemon bloody after receiving tremendous beatings from other Pokemons. With all those said, here are still a couple of features provided by bumuckl:

Fans of bumuckl's Bermuda CS application will be pleased to know that there's a new version out that adds increased functionality to the image manipulation software. It's now called Bermuda CS 7 Patched, with the "patched" in the name referring to a bugfix that came after the release of version 7. Bermuda CS 7 has the following changes to it, following the release of Bermuda CS 6 Pro:
For the folks thinking of picking up this application, please remember to check the readme for additional information on installing and using the Bermuda CS 7 Patched. Also, if you happen to like his application, feel free to vote for it at this year's NeoFlash Summer Coding Competition, which we're linking to below. Enjoy! Homebrew developer bumuckl dropped by QJ.NET PSP Development Forum and rolled out a new and improved version of Bermuda CS. The program is a "creative suite" that allows users to design and create their own pictures and artwork using the PlayStation Portable.
This build, Bermuda CS 6 Pro, is quite similar to Bermuda CS Lite which was released just a couple of days ago. The main difference is the addition of the zoom tool, new fonts, and new text creation function. Here's the complete changelog as provided by bumuckl:

Eidechse34 sent us some mail to let us know of a new Pokemon clone being developed, and even though it's in its alpha stages, it certainly is something worth talking about. Ladies and gents, we present to you... Pocketmon Quecksilver, by Bumuckl and basecamp of PSPSource! Here's what he sent us: Bumuckl and basecamp from the German homebrew community PSPSource.de have started a big new homebrew project some weeks ago: a Pokemon clone in Lua. And now the first preview version of "Pocketmon Quecksilver" is out. In this preview version one map is playable and you can fight against one test opponent. However there are already all Pokemons (they're named Pocketmons in this game), altogether Pocketmon includes 25 Pocketmons, only 10 of them are finished up to now. Also the Pocketdex (the index of the Pocketmons) doesn't work till now, but as mentioned above it's just a preview... To install the game, just place the two folders in your GAME (or GAME150) folder, and you should be all set. Give it a try, alright? Download: Pocketmon Quecksilver preview |

Muchos kudos to bumuckl for informing us about his latest homebrew game release, UT PSP Beta 1. According to bumuckl, UT PSP was inspired by CS Combined Assault, which gave him the idea of making a port of Unreal Tournament for PSP. Here are a few notes and comments from bumuckl: So I modified the Quake-Engine a lil bit and made my own UT PSP. It's very funny. But the Graphics is bad because of the Quake Engine that only supports 8-Bit Colors. Two Weapons are still CS-Style, because the Loading-Times of the Game are very long and if I had made my own models for this two Weapons, the Loading-Times would have been very very very long. bumuckl also says that this is just a beta so don't be pissed if you find that the multiplayer doesn't work yet because more improvements will definitely be added in future releases. An important note though, bumuckl says that "YOU CANT PLAY THE GAME WITHOUT THE "PAK1". AND "PAK1" IS MISSING. YOU HAVE TO BUY IT. OR YOU USE THE "PAK1" OF CS COMBINED ASSAULT." Not to worry though, you can get the PAK1 from CS Combined Assault right here. Some members of the homebrew community are saying that UT PSP actually looks like it's 50% Quake, 30% Unreal Tournament, and 20% Counter Strike. But that's them. So why don't you check out the game and let us know what you think, yes? Download: [UT PSP Beta 1] |
