For those of us who find Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron for the Sony PlayStation Portable a bit too much, then here's something to level the playing field some: a cheat device for the game that lets you change your weapons and equipment, as well as tinker around with your stats. All thanks to PSP homebrew developer Durka Durka Mahn. So, how do you change your weapons after you've applied this naughty little bit of homebrew? Simple. After installation, each weapon slot will have its own option on the menu, and all one needs to do is to press either right or left to change each option. And if you think that's convenient, Durka Durka Mahn is planning to put in a bit more functionality into the cheat device, namely more interactive options and probably a teleport feature. And as we all know, teleportation is always handy. In any case, be sure to read the readme file included in the downloadable archive for instructions on how to install it, as well as use it. It's really much safer for your PSP if you do. Download: SWRSHACKER Visit: QJ.NET's PSP Development Forums |

PlayStation Portable homebrew developer Durka Durka Mahn has just released a nifty easy installer for those who have a bit of trouble with Edison Carter's LCS and VCS Cheat Devices. In case you've been living under a rock, LCS (Liberty City Stories) and VCS (Vice City Stories) Cheat Devices offer cheats for Grand Theft Auto's PSP iterations. Durka Durka Mahn's Cheat Device Installer will just make the process easy as it automatically generates the "Game.txt file and copy the VCS and LCS Cheat Devices straight to your memory stick." Bundled with Cheat Device Installer is VCS CheatDevice version 2.4 and LCS CheatDevice version 1.0g. Check out the readme files that come with the download. What's with Durka Durka Mahn? Not content with making a bunch of different tools to augment the Vice City Stories cheating experience, he's made yet another one for people to use. This time, the new tool he's written turns any text you want to see in the game into to a cheat for Edison Carter's VCS Cheat Device. All you have to do is visit the webpage he's provided and type in the text you want to see. As you can observe from the above picture, it will create the code you'll need to input into Edison's Carter's Vice City Stories Cheat Device for it to show up on your PSP. In any case, give it a try. A heartfelt QJ salute will go to the first person who makes an "I <3 QJ" screenshot for us to use. Cheers! Visit: PSP Development Forums |

Yolarry's GTA Cheat Device Pack 2.71 SE-C UMF Installer sure got you guys excited, didn't it? And it most definitely was successful. But as there have been some concerns regarding the use of USB flash0, Yolarry's tweaked with his brew a bit, this time, out of coldbird's UMF.Now, he says he's definitely confident that this GTA Cheat Device Pack 3.03 OE-C v2 does not brick your PSP. In fact, he's tried it on a clean 3.03 OE-C PSP himself. While we do trust him, we still won't be lax in telling you to be careful when installing this, or any application for that matter. Make caution and prudence something of second nature, to be sure. Anyhow, for those not exactly in the know, what this GTA Cheat Device Pack does is to help flash prx's of vcscheatdevic.prx and lcscheatdevic.prx to your precious Sony handhelds without bricking it. The instructions for installation are included in the file archive, so it would be best if you check out the Readme for it. However, he does have this warning for you: Do not try to installed both VCS & LCS cheatdevice or else the game wont function or no sound. Do not installed any other firmwares, this is only for Dark_AleX 3.03 OE-C. If you have any prx's loaded in your pspbtcnf_game.txt, this program will overwrite it! And as for his witty changelog: V2 beta - Complete redo! V1 is expired! So there. Again, do not confuse Yolarry as the author of cheat device. It's Edison Carter who did it, and Yolarry packed it. Looks like PSP fans can get their tanks for free on some of the more recent firmwares. Freeplay gave us word of his unofficial upgrade for for the Liberty City Stories Cheat Device. This version should allow you to use the cheat device on different firmwares, from 2.00 to 3.03. Here's what he told us: I hacked version 1.0d of the LCS cheat device so that it uses save slot #9, which makes the exploit work on firmwares 2.71 through 3.03. This should make it possible to run the cheat device on all firmwares from 2.00 through 3.03. I've tested it on 2.00, 2.71, and 3.03, and it works on all of those. For some reason, 2.70 didn't work. It works just like Edison Carter's original cheat device, so there shouldn't be any troubles with implementing the different cheats, much less installing it. Still, make sure you check the documentation so you can avoid any problems, alright? Download: GTA LCS Cheat Device for FW2.00-3.03 |

Gee, haven't haxed enough in Vice City to satisfy the burning hunger in your cheatish psyche? Edison Carter packs one new feature into v2.3 of his VCS CheatDevice for Vice City Stories. So what is this brand-new feature, pray tell, that deserves such an update by 0.1 of a version number? Why, the all-new Construction Mode. As the animated GIF from him perfectly illustrates, users can now plop down, for example, overpasses to bypass those killer traffic (ideally, the only killer traffic in the game should be you, but that's another thing entirely). Hopefully that looping GIF is only a taste of what users can do to make Vice City a friendlier place for overspeeding and reckless drivers everywhere. Like the previous CheatDevices, "After installing, wait at least 15 seconds before turning off USB or pulling out your memory stick. The PC caches your changes and doesn't write them out until a while later. If your memory card gets corrupt, use chkdsk /f X:" Whether you're going to use the easy installation program, or do things the hard way, please read the Readme so you have a better idea of what exactly is going to happen. So you wanna use the wonderful cheat device that Edison Carter made for Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories without the need for Devhook or Recovery Mode. What are you going to do?Well, if you're Yolarry, you'll make a Coldbird installer for the the GTA Cheat Device. He recently came up with the GTA Cheat Device Pack 2.71 SE-C UMF Installer, which uses Coldbird's Universal Module Flasher to get the job done. The pack currently overwrites MP3 prx installer data files, so you may want to be extremely careful when using this to get your GTA cheats. One other thing to note is that this doesn't have an actual readme file for installation. It will definitely assume that you know your way around homebrew, so make sure you know what you're doing or you might lose some data or overwrite the above-mentioned files. For those who aren't that well-versed in homebrew, we'll link back to the posts on using the GTA Cheat Device and the Universal Module Flasher to get you started. You can also place a comment on the forum link below if you want to ask Yolarry for assistance, and we're certain someone on the forums will be willing to help if you make a new post and ask nicely. Happy gaming, everyone. Download: [GTA Cheat Device Pack 2.71 SE-C UMF Installer] Discuss: [Forum Release Thread] |

The last we heard of Chunglam was way back in the tail-end of October when he just released version 1.65c of his creation, the Devhook Launcher/ VSHEX Mod. But, lookie here, Chunglam is back at the scene, doing what he does best - and that is dishing out updates for this app. This time, he released version 1.65c3 of this app.First time QJ reader? New PSP owner? Just in case everything in this article looks like Cuneiform to you, well let us give you a picture of what this app is. Basically, Chunglam's Devhook Launcher/ VSHEX Mod is a spin-off of TheBuzzer's Devhook GUI Launcher Mod. Chunglam doesn't want you to be in the dark as to how to use this app so he provided a detailed readme, Mini FAQ, and history texts that you should all read - regardless if you're a first-time user or not. With this update, Chunglam is indeed keeping up with the times as he just added cheat device">Edison Carter's Cheat Device 1.0d PRX for GTA-LCS and Cheat Device 2.1a PRX for GTA-Vice City Stories. Before we end this, we would like to thank BobJoe for the tip. So with that, let's jump to the changelog. Version 1.65c3
