coolguy5678, the developer behind the Unofficial CSPSP Editor, visited the QJ.NET Forums earlier to announce the release of 4^2 for the PSP. Kudos goes to PSP developer MániácX, who after just releasing CSP Development Studio Version 1.2 for the community's use several hours ago, is announcing the release of version 1.2.1. This application, for those asking, is a Windows-based integrated development environment (IDE), and is built to help both beginner and intermediate PSP coders in developing apps. As for version 1.2.1's changelog:
UPDATE: MániácX made a note below reminding users that this upgrade requires the original versionof the application. You can follow the appropriate link below to download CSP Development Studio v1.2. Judging from the number of custom maps we've been looking at on the blogs, it seems you guys have been enjoying coolguy5678's Unofficial CSPSP Editor. For the guys still not in on this PC-based homebrew application, it's basically a level editor for nataku92's famed CSPSP homebrew game - itself a fun adaptation of Valve's Counter-Strike PC title. Moving on with the news, coolguy5678 is letting everybody know that he's releasing v1.01 of his app, which will field these new features:

Just a short while ago, we released Nataku92's CSPSP v1.01 homebrew game for your enjoyment. And given that its latest version comes with a map selector, we have something that should mix in just fine. Gabba Gandalf over at the QJ boards has just announced the release of his Little Aztec v2.0 map for CSPSP, and as the name says, this is his homebrew touch of Counter-Strike's Aztec map. This is one of the many custom maps we've been running into since coolguy5678 released his Unofficial CSPSP Editor app. Gabba does warn us that version 2 is a bit rough, and may freeze up occasionally. For now, we advise guys to check out the forum release thread to report any bugs you may see, and the redkill custom map homebrew, which offers details on how to install the file. Enjoy this CS classic! Download: [CsPSP map Little Aztec_v2] Discuss: [Forum Release Thread] |

Stephan_GFX stopped by our forums recently to tell us about the release of his creation - a map for nataku92's homebrew game, CSpsp called RedKiLL CSpsp Map. According to him, this is just one of the many maps that he has concocted using coolguy5678's unofficial CSpsp Editor and he is planning on releasing more. He is also asking for feedback and comments about this one, so don't hesitate to tell us what you think through the comments section. He also mentions that since the current CSpsp doesn't let you load maps from the menu, here is how you install and play his new map:

There's something about Counter Strike that makes you want to continue playing it. Even the homebrew community has a newly-found (and growing) interest for this FPS when coder Nataku92 created CSpsp v1.0. There was actually a much earlier release but we guess it goes without saying that this one is the favorite by far. Anyway, another coder by the name of Coolguy5678 dropped by our forums and told us that he made an Unofficial CSpsp Editor. His program, accordingly, is a level editor for the said homebrew. It's written in Java so any OS with a JRE should have no problem running it. The original coder of CSpsp took notice of this addon, gave it two thumbs up, and mentioned that it is actually awesome. He mentioned however that the tile.png has a size limit of 512x512px. So anyone who would like to create multiple rows of tiles can do so, provided that the width is a power of 2. Likewise, Coolguy5678 said that the maps created with the Unofficial CSpsp Editor may not work if you use the "__SCE__" naming trick. Should you come up with new exciting maps, please share it with the rest of us via the Discuss link. Download: [Unofficial CSpsp Editor] Discuss: [Forum Release Thread] |

Coolguy 5678 just keeps setting the bar higher for himself. After the release of his TIFF TNT Dude v1.2, here he comes yet again with another version, v1.3. So what's new here? Initially, it was just supposed to be some bug fix update, but he thought that was way too boring. So he decided to spice it up by adding some more teleporters and six new maps. He says this might be the final release, unless of course there's enough demand from you guys for an update. Ever the pleaser, eh? Anyhow, you already know the basics of this game. It's similar to Bomberman, and it's got three powerups: Bomb, Power, and Superpower. Now for this new version, you'd find blue circles with cyan circles inside scattered about. Those would be the teleporters that he's added. What these do is to teleport you to the cyan circles with blue circles inside them, or the "teledests". Controls remain the same. As for the six new maps added, they are the following:

Your parents must be terrorists... because you're TEH BOMB! Oh yeah, coolguy5678 updated his homebrew from last week to TIFF TNT Dude v1.2 and it's exploding with a fresh batch of maps. From his initial version, the smoke is clearing up. The developer has been able to make a couple of changes in his game:
Now, about the extra maps, any map added to the maps folder (with a maximum of 20 maps) will be loaded into the game. You can scroll through those maps by hitting the shoulders buttons. You can make your own maps (it's all in the readme), but here are the existing maps that come with the package:
