A few days ago, we told you about danny_kay1710">danny_kay1710's nifty application PopStation GUI. For starters, this program would be really helpful to those who have embraced DarK_AleX's 3.02 OE-B because this would make converting your PlayStation games to POPS format as easy as pie.The last time we talked about it, this app was still in its beta phase leaving it with more room for improvement. Now, the dev just said goodbye to beta as he released version 1.0. Since danny_kay now has more time to devote to his creation, he added some pretty nice, extra features for y'all. So now, what can you do with this app aside from the obvious? Here are some of the new things he hooked us up with:

PopStation is the name for one of those fake PSP-looking gadgets that play bad versions of Tetris, but the PopStation that talks about PSX game emulation is something we definitely love. Hot on the heels of the danny_kay1710 and Quake's PopStation GUIs is another application that seeks to make PSX emulation a lot easier.Except it's not a GUI. Zalbard has released PSX2PSP, an alternative program for converting PSX iso files from their normal format into the PSP eboot.pbp format. Zalbard says it works "without cygwin.dll, base.pbp and popstation.exe," so it may be something fellows with slower computers might want to try using if your conversions take a lot longer than expected. This is version 0.7, and he hopes to add additional features in future releases. Now for some actual info on the app. We've noticed that it runs just as fast as the PopStation in converting files, and sometimes goes faster than the PopStation depending on the game you're converting. PSX2PSP v0.7 has a problem with saves though, as he mentioned in his tip to us, so be forewarned. All in all, it's impressive, and you may want to try it out for yourself if you're feeling the need for a change. Enjoy the download, and have fun satisfying your RPG fix. Note: The PSX2PSP download contained files of an illegal nature, it has since been removed. If you are determined to find this all in one PSX to PSP converter best of luck finding it on the interwebs. |

You already know by now that the newest cream of the crop of the homebrew community, Dark_AleX's 3.02 OE-B now running your own Playstation games. The instructions on how to convert your PlayStation games to the POPS format are included in the popstation folder inside the 3.02 OE-B download. But let's say that despite all Dark_AleX's help, you're still stump on how to convert your PSX games to a playable format on your 3.02 OE-B?
This is the great thing about PSP homebrew scene today. Every dev just wanna help the community in any way they can. That's why two devs released two different apps that does the same thing - make POPSTATION more friendly to the uninitiated. These two apps are both PopStation GUIs - one was done by danny_kay1710, the other by Quake. Let's start with danny_kay's version. Basically, it just provides a nice GUI for Dark_AleX's popstation.exe. As always, the dev provided an in-depth read me that comes with the download so you better catch up on your reading. On the other hand, Quake's take on the PopStation GUI gig is recommended to be used inside the popstation folder on your desktop. You will still need all files to be in the same folder as the popstation. At the end of the day, both apps give you the same result. It all boils down to which of the two you are more comfortable using. Download links are down there, read up, enjoy, and much thanks to the devs! And if you thought v1.9 was the last version of this incredibly useful app, well then, you're so wrong. danny_kay1710 has just upgraded PSPHost to v2.0. PSPHost (formerly known as PSPLink) is a graphical interface support for NETHOSTFS, USBHOSTFS, PiMPStreamer, and WiFi Controller. Like we said, it's darn useful. The dev says there are no new features added to this latest version, but two major bug fixes have been made.
Thanks to danny_kay1710 - he even saw fit to tell us QJ folks about his wonderful program himself! Download: [PSPHost v2.0] Download: [PSPHost v1.8] |

Homebrew dev, danny_kay1710 has recently updated one of his creations, PSPHost formerly known as PSPLink. In case you have no idea what in the world this thing is, it is actually a graphical interface support for USBHOSTFS, NETHOSTFS, WiFi Controller, and PiMPStreamer. The last time we talked about it, the dev added the latest updates of DickyDick1969's PiMPStreamer. He also introduced some compatibility fixes that would be of great help to those people who aren't using Windows XP. While v1.8 was jampacked with updates, there's always some room for improvement. In your comments, you mentioned that there we're some bugs that prevented you from maximizing the capabilities of this app, well, hopefully, danny_kay did his part. You could leave out your suggestions and other thoughts on the comments section. For now, here is the changelog:

PSPHost 1.4 has now been updated to PSPHost 1.5. Cool, huh?PSPHost is a GUI by danny_kay1710 that supports USBHOSTFS, NETHOSTFS, WiFiController, and PimpStreamer. In other words, it's USBHOSTFS and NETHOSTFS with an easy-to-use interface with a couple extra things thrown in. You can easily enable or disable the server modes and allow them to run at startup. You can also change the folder that USBHOSTFS or NETHOSTFS shares to your PSP. It used to be called PSPLink but the name was changed to avoid confusion with Tyranid's application of the same name (Tyranid's came first, but danny_kay1710 didn't realize until after the release). It's hard to be a pimp these days, what with all the laws and the codes and such. Thank goodness danny_kay1710 is here to help pimp you out. Pimp out your PSP that is. The good developer's released version 1.4 of his PSPHost app, a GUI that supports USBHOSTFS, NETHOSTFS, WiFiController and, just to give it more pimping power, PimpStreamer v0.7. If you don't quite remember any previous versions of this app, it's probably because v1.3 and below used to be known as PSPLink. He changed the name, however, as TyRaNid already has an app called PSPLink. The Changelog mentions some issues, aside from the PimpStreamer update: USBHOSTFS and NETHOSTFS ran twice when set to run at startup. Whilst this didn’t cause any problems concerning viewing files over these hosts, it did consume more system memory than needed. In any case, congrats to danny_kay1710 on his new release! danny_kay1710 has released version 1.3 of his PSPLink application. danny_kay1710's PSPLink is different from another well-known program by TyRaNid, also called PSPLink. This danny_kay1710 version is a graphical interface that supports USBHOSTFS and NETHOSTFS. The new version now allows for use of PimpStreamer and WiFiController servers.danny_kay1710's app is now available for download at the source site below, as well as on QJ. Before that, however, here are the list of all changes between his previous version and v1.3: * Added PimpStreamer server support. Enable it on the system tray icon. * Added Wi-Fi Controller server support. Enable it on the system tray icon. * Because WifiController Host closes automatically when not properly configured a test button has been added to the settings menu. This will run the host without hiding it giving you chance to see if it stays open (meaning it is properly set up) or if it closes straight away (needs more configuration!). * Now can start PimpStreamer or Wi-Fi controller with PSPLink (PimpStreamer will start minimised when started at program start) This means that effectively you can make PimpStreamer run as Windows start along with wifi controller through PSPLink. * The setup no longer installs any readme's. To kick things off, do not mistake this homebrew app for TyRaNid's PSPLink. These are two different apps, who happen to share the same name. This is the creation of danny_kay1710, and it is also called PSPLink. Just what is this thing? danny_kay1710's PSPLink is a small application which is basically a USBHOSTFS or NETHOSTFS with an interface. This program adds the option to enable or disable the server modes easily as well as allowing them to run at startup and change the folder that USBHOSTFS or NETHOSTFS shares to your PSP. It no longer has to be in the same folder as the application. Small app, but quite nifty. With all that said, here is the changelog: Version 1.2 * Actually fully fixed the autostart problems, sorry it took two versions, had to re-arrange code and forgot to move one line!! * Site references in installed README removed to hopefully stop PS2NFO providing non-working versions of my software. Version 1.1 * Fixed WiFi directory changing bug. * Fixed the autostart problems in which it would only share the default installation path upon application restart. Version 1.0 * Driver is included in the installation path (default = "C:Program FilesPSPLinkDriver") * Release Version * GUI for USBhostfs and nethostfs (SystemTray based) * Start with Windows * Choose what server to run when program starts * The folder to share doesnt have to be in the same location as the exe. This can be changed through the settings page. NOTE: You still cannot select the actual ISO or PSP folder you must select a folder that conatins the ISO and PSP folders e.g ms0 ---ISO ------Your isos here ---PSP ------GAME ----------Your Homebrew Here. Also, don't forget to tell us what you think through your comments. Here at QJ, your comments are valued, so don't hesitate to think out loud in the comments section. Download: [PSPLink v1.2] |
