XCM Multi-Console Component cable Version .3, compatible with PSP Slim and Lite - Image 1 Dealing with all the wires with one console is bad enough, especially when you have other devices you attach to your TV set, but when you have more than one console, things can get crazy really fast if you're not careful. Here's an easy solution: use one component cable for all your consoles. XCM has released a new component cable that supports all platforms at once, including the PSP Slim. More details in the full article.

Folks Soul for the PS3 - Image 1The details are a bit murky at the moment, but the concept is cool enough to warrant a report on. Apparently a Japanese retailer's listing of the PlayStation 3 Folks Soul details several things about it that are intriguing. Aside from things like 720p video output and Dolby Digital Live sound output, the game also has something called "PlayStation Portable Linkage."

Sadly, there is no word yet on how the link with the PSP is set to work or if it is even gameplay related.

Aside from the PSP connection, the game is also set to make use of the tilt-sensing capabilities of the SIXAXIS during ground based beat-em up combat. Famitsu reports have revealed that after you've grabbed opponents using the R1 button, shaking the SIXAXIS will allow you to toss and move around your foes.

We'll keep you updated as soon as more details on the game is made available. Folks Soul by Game Republic is set to be released in Japan on June 2007.

Silent hillNot a few gamers have learned to love the videogame Silent Hill. Not surprisingly, Hollywood tried to grab a bit of the spotlight by making a movie based from it. Well, we loved it as well... loved to forget we ever watched it (and wasted good money on it), that is. If you're one of the rare ones who find this flick worthy enough of having UMD, DVD and Blu-ray copies of it, you're in luck (or are you?). That's because come August 22, Silent Hill will be hitting stores in UMD, DVD and Blu-ray formats.

Silent Hill, from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (that explains why it made it to Blu-ray and UMD), follows the story of a mother (Radha Mitchell; perhaps the only good thing that happened to that movie) who lost her daughter in a mystery-riddled town. In her mission to find her child, she encounters hell and all the creatures that goes with that dreadful place. The film itself will be presented in anamorphic widescreen, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround track.

If you're the masochistic type, prepare to shell out $28.95 and $38.95 for DVD and Blu-ray copies respectively. Of course, the Blu-ray copy costs higher - there's a price to pay for higher features you know (same reason why PS3 is priced that much). No word regarding the price for UMD formats were mentioned, but in cases like this, would it have bothered you if there is?
