For those of us who find Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron for the Sony PlayStation Portable a bit too much, then here's something to level the playing field some: a cheat device for the game that lets you change your weapons and equipment, as well as tinker around with your stats. All thanks to PSP homebrew developer Durka Durka Mahn. So, how do you change your weapons after you've applied this naughty little bit of homebrew? Simple. After installation, each weapon slot will have its own option on the menu, and all one needs to do is to press either right or left to change each option. And if you think that's convenient, Durka Durka Mahn is planning to put in a bit more functionality into the cheat device, namely more interactive options and probably a teleport feature. And as we all know, teleportation is always handy. In any case, be sure to read the readme file included in the downloadable archive for instructions on how to install it, as well as use it. It's really much safer for your PSP if you do. Download: SWRSHACKER Visit: QJ.NET's PSP Development Forums |

PlayStation Portable homebrew developer Durka Durka Mahn has just released a nifty easy installer for those who have a bit of trouble with Edison Carter's LCS and VCS Cheat Devices. In case you've been living under a rock, LCS (Liberty City Stories) and VCS (Vice City Stories) Cheat Devices offer cheats for Grand Theft Auto's PSP iterations. Durka Durka Mahn's Cheat Device Installer will just make the process easy as it automatically generates the "Game.txt file and copy the VCS and LCS Cheat Devices straight to your memory stick." Bundled with Cheat Device Installer is VCS CheatDevice version 2.4 and LCS CheatDevice version 1.0g. Check out the readme files that come with the download. Durka Durka Mahn has announced that the VCS Tool Pack v0.015 is now ready for public use. This version adds two new tools, bug fixes, and in the developer's words: "a much better looking screen!" The two tools are very convenient. First is the Menu Maker which allows users to create fully functional scrolling menus during gameplay. The Button Cheat Maker on the other hand enables players to create "if-statements" that activate preset cheats if a button on the PSP is held down/pressed. The bug fixes he implemented correct a few of the more glaring problems of his earlier releases as well. Here they are:

Durka Durka Mahn recently released the VCS Tools Pack v0.002. This update adds more functions making it a worthy upgrade from the previous version. A portal maker and car spawner tool have been added to the program. Portal maker creates a two-way portal that allows easy travel between two points in the Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories while the car spawner will allow you to add cars to the game by inputing the Car ID, coordinates, and its orientation. The Car IDs can be found in the car spawn ID text file included with the program. If this is the first time you'll be using this, remember that you have to have the VCS cheat program for it to work. Like any homebrew, be sure to go over the read me document in the zipped file to avoid any confusion on its usage. Download: VCS Tools Pack v0.002 Visit: QJ.net PSP Development Forums |

Homebrew developer Durka Durka Mahn has just released the VCS Tools Pack v0.001 for the PlayStation Portable. This PC-based application allows users to display user specified messages at the bottom of the screen during gameplay as well as teleporting characters to various coordinates in the map. The developer didn't include a Readme document with his program but left some instructions on how to use the program over at QJ.NET PSP Development Forum. Here's his exact post:
Controls:
Type 1 or 2 to choose what tool you want to use.
Simply type in the information that the program asks you for and hit enter, until finally, it asks you to export it.
Then simply type in the EXACT file path of the .txt file you want to save it to. For example, if I wanted to put it on my PSP, I would input:
I:CHEATSvcscheats.txt
Then it will be saved along with your other cheats in your cheats.txt file. Known bugs: After using the program once, you will need to restart it, I am having problems getting it to go back and let you make more than one code per launch. (If anyone could help me with this, please do!) Remember that you need to have the VCS cheat program for VCS Tools Pack v0.001. Durka Durka Mahn added that he is planning to make this a full PSP application in the future. And as such, any constructive criticism is welcome. What's with Durka Durka Mahn? Not content with making a bunch of different tools to augment the Vice City Stories cheating experience, he's made yet another one for people to use. This time, the new tool he's written turns any text you want to see in the game into to a cheat for Edison Carter's VCS Cheat Device. All you have to do is visit the webpage he's provided and type in the text you want to see. As you can observe from the above picture, it will create the code you'll need to input into Edison's Carter's Vice City Stories Cheat Device for it to show up on your PSP. In any case, give it a try. A heartfelt QJ salute will go to the first person who makes an "I <3 QJ" screenshot for us to use. Cheers! Visit: PSP Development Forums |
