It's claimed the throne for over twelve months already, but that's changed now. What are Japanese gamers looking forward to the most these days? Dragon Quest IX for the DS. Yeah, leave it to the Japanese gamers to replace an RPG with another RPG - another Square Enix RPG, for that matter - on their most wanted list.

The steel giants are making giant strides as Mobile Suit: Gundam vs. Gundam sells 240,594 copies in its first week. Of course, the rest of us who don't have the game can just envy those 240,594, sulking over all the steel-busting, rocket-launching action that we're missing out on.

The NPD Group, Chart Track, and Enterbrain put their heads together again and released their second Top Global Markets Report. The report details videogame sales in the US, UK, and Japan and lists the top five best selling games for Q3 of this year. First place went to EA's Madden 09 (Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, DS, PC, PS3, PS2)

Interlacing issues features aside, the PSP-3000 seems to be quite a successful gig over at Japan. During its first four days alone (from October 16 to 19, specifically), the new PSP model has already sold 141,270 units, Enterbrain reports. Why, that's even more units than combined PS3 and Xbox 360 sales for an entire week! (At least, if based on Media Create's recent figures.)
