Good news, folks. Dark AleX has released a new universal unbricker for both the Fat and Slim models of Sony's PlayStation portable handheld gaming console.First of all, this unbricker will bring your PSP back to 3.71. You'll also need the following Sony firmwares to run it: 1.50, 3.40 and 3.71. Dark AleX also notes that those who want to unbrick their PSPs should only use dumps of their own PSPs. Using a dump from another PSP will lead to further bricking or idstorage corruption. There's a readme file included in the download below, but it's in Spanish. Those of you who don't speak the language are advised to click on the Visit link below to get more info about this app from the QJ.NET PSP Development Forums. Thanks to eXogan for the tip. Dark AleX has released a new version of Despertar Cementerio which you can download below. This version includes a fix for the Sony bug as well as an English readme. Exogan emailed us about his useful homebrew application, PSPixel Fixer. As the name of the homebrew suggests, it fixes stuck pixels that you might have on your screen. While "pixel fixer" apps are a dime a dozen already, it's always welcoming thought to find something new. This particular one was coded in Lua, by the by, and you run it like any regular homebrew (check the readme for installation instructions). The program cycles through different colors that flash onscreen. Now, depending on how stubbornly frozen your pixels are, the time it'd take to clear your screen of the eyesore pixels will vary. It could be anywhere from twenty minutes to three hours to maybe even overnight. Also, since we're talking about bright colors flashing on the screen, we don't suggest staring at it for extended periods of time, despite how hypnotizing it might be. As with other pixel fixer apps, do note that it's not always a 100% guarantee of pixel fixing. Sometimes, it might even cause more stuck pixels to show up - in which some forum goers suggest that you use these only in extreme cases, like maybe if you have more than six stuck pixels. Snaps to Exogan for creating such a useful app and emailing us about it! Download: PSPixel Fixer |
