It seems the folks over at AcidMods are a big fan of options, as we recently found out that they've made a new version of Virtual PSP Modder specifically for the web! It's called Virtual PSP Modder Lite, and as they've managed to show, it's another risk-free way to visualize the modification of your PSP units with faceplates, new buttons, and LEDs.
For those who haven't heard of the Virtual PSP Modder, it's a Windows program that lets users to virtually trick out a PSP, even allowing you virtually disassemble the PSP. Virtual PSP Modder Lite allows you a similar set of functions, minus the whole virtual disassembly bit. In the case of VPM Lite, you can actually preview different combinations of LEDs, faceplates, and buttons. Want a Christmas-y setup with red buttons, a green faceplate and red LEDs? You can do that! Thinking of scholastic blue and gold? You can set that up too. In any case, you can preview the process by watching the video below, or you can skip the preview and give it a try by following the source link below. Enjoy! |

We've got some nice, big photos of the new Camy Pro Gear PSP faceplates set for release soon. The PSP faceplates' colors are pretty hot and should please a lot of PSP fans. Check them out:
The manufacturers say that the new faceplates are built from the same material as those of earlier models. They should be pretty sturdy and are billed to fit tight on the handheld. We'll let you know if the claims hold true when news is forthcoming. Camy Pro even held a faceplate design contest recently, with winning entries getting featured by the manufacturers. If you think these designs don't suit your taste, you can have your PSP faceplate personalized to suit your personality. The Camy Pro Gear line was well received by PSP lovers for their nice breed of style and quality. The faceplates are slated for release on May 5th. We hope the new models hold the same quality as those we've come to expect from the brand. Thanks to jrfhoutx for the heads-up. |

From the looks of it, plenty of the PSP owners around here have been enjoying Camy Pro Gear's line of dual injection faceplates - noted for their high quality and durability even compared to Sony's original sets. And you can get your own personal faceplate design made, like that wicked dragon pattern to the right. Camy Pro Gear announced the start of their PSP Faceplate design contest, which gives PSP aficionados a chance to have their winning design featured on Camy Pro Gear's future line up of faceplates. As for the contest mechanics:

The last time we looked, custom faceplates for the PSP were still a dime a dozen. Well, we guess it is that important for PSP owners to customize and stand out in the crowd. But on second thought, maybe the original black one has already worn out or cracked and really needs to be replaced. So if ever you need new ones for whatever reason, read on.Camy Pro Gear recently put up a website to help market their very own faceplates. Of course, it is expected that the company will pimp praise its own creation to no end but Camy Pro Gear might be offering something really worth our money here. Accordingly, Camy Pro Gear's faceplates are designed in dual injection modes just like the original stock ones. This means that there are two layers present in these custom faceplates: first, the colored layer which comes in blue, red, yellow, black, or white. And there is another layer which is actually a clear plastic layer for added protection and beauty. Aside from these, the crystal-like layer is most useful to the lens as it helps remove the ridge effect. As of now, licensed distributors of Camy Pro's babies include webshops DecalGirl, VideoGameAdvantage, as well as the Llammas Adventures. |

Since the Ice Age, we've been putting the skins of dead mammals on our backs to fend off against the bad elements. And with the different applications it's getting these days, fur's become both utility wear and a fashion statement - which is probably why Talismoon's getting in on this clothing trend with their latest addition to their Evolve line of accessories for the Xbox 360 controller and PSP. Named the "Wild Jungle" collection, this new kit's just the thing for you guys who weren't too happy with Talismoon's chrome finish faceplates, and were opting for something a bit more...organic. The new kit currently comes in two designs: A leopard pattern, and a cow pattern - What bovine has to do with "Wild Jungle", we'll never know. The skins are just synthetic fibres, so no animals were harmed in their production - ask the local PETA dudes to put their paint buckets down. These two are just their initial releases, so expect more "Wild Jungle" patterns to come up, each going for US$ 14.99 when they're released. Ain't it the coolest - we get to put dead animals on our consoles! |

Team Xtender has never failed us in delivering new accessories. It seems like they live to please. Their balanced mix of the flamboyant and the practical is their biggest asset of all. Last time they wowed us with their release of XCM Deluxe Chrome PSP faceplate and their Metallic Edition. You can literally make your PSP look like a different one every day using these faceplates. Now they are back with a new collection they call Smooth as Silk. According to their website, their new line has undergone coloring through a special process, making the faceplate extra smooth. They say that this could also be an enhancing factor to your gaming experience. They boast of a new mold, lens, smooth coating and the best quality plastic.
The images are rather small, but I think you can make it out. Give the buttons a good, hard look and I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised at what you'll discover. What's in the box:
