Spectral Souls 2

Resurrection is what Spectral Souls II is all about. After a long hiatus, this long awaited sequel, with the subtitle "Resurrection of the Ethereal Empires," will finally be available to loyal followers on September 30.

And as the release date comes near, more and more noise are heard coming from NIS America camp, developers of this fantasy meets adventure game. Matter of factly, the cover art that they will be using in its PSP version package was just recently unveiled. And just what can we do before the release?

We suggest stare at the picture, sprinkle a little imagination and be taken away to fantasy land. Just don't forget to go back before September 30, ok? Enjoy!

It's been awhile since QJ featured Spectral Souls. This doesn't mean though, that the game has been thrown in the trash bin. In fact, development on it has been in progress and NIS America says that Spectral Souls II will be heading to PSP on September 30. Since August is just dawning and September 30 is still a far away date, NIS America gives us a fill of Spectral Souls teasers to ease our longing for the game.

Just in is the logo that will be gracing the PSP version  of Spectral Souls II. The promotional movie (which you can watch by clicking on the download below) was used during E3, but in case you missed it, NIS America is letting you have a peek at the beauty coming to your PSPs. Running  a minute and a half, the movie tells the story leading to fantasy world Neverland's  Seven Years War - abrupt massacres and destruction.

If the movie just heightened your curiosity and you're aching for more info on the game, the developer promises to send in more info when they become available -- they did say they'll be sharing the package cover once it's ready...I just hope they'll also throw in a couple of in-game trailers when the cover art is available. But for now, we have to content ourselves with the logo and the movie. Hey, beggars can't be choosers. Enjoy!

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07If you don't know anything about golf, take comfort that at least you know Tiger Woods. His new game for the PSP titled Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07, would hopefully get you into the sport. In this game, you can challenge the world's top golfers (yes, there are other golfers aside from Tiger) like Ian Poulter, Vijay Singh, John Daly and Luke Donald, in an all new PGA Tour Mode. Work on your game through mid-week training and unique challenges, then take on the best PGA TOUR pros in tournaments in the chase for The FedEx Cup.

Feel like a pro while playing in twelve fantasy courses like Bethpage Black, Pinehurst No. 2, Cog Hill, Pasatiempo, and Fancourt Links. And what is a pro without the gear (cough * sponsors * cough). The innovative character creation tool is revamped with more apparel and specialty items. Completing the experience are the announcing dream team of David Feherty and Gary McCord provide commentary and irreverent observations during every round.

The game has undergone a lot of enhancements in its release this time around. Expect a new Swing Path Meter that displays shot type and shot accuracy info to aid you in your game. While new Power Boosts gives you more choices when putting from distinct distances. There are also graphical upgrades that include improved lighting, texturing and mapping, plus a new menu system and camera modifications. There are also PSP exclusive mini-games like Shooting Gallery game and Putting Frenzy.

menu1buying cards

Some months back, Sakya made a homebrew version of one of the games featured in PlayStation's Final Fantasy VIII, "Triple Triad". After v0.1.1 though, the game fizzled out and up to now, no new version has come out. Well if you enjoyed that game, you might be interested in what JBird has for us today, his own Triple Triad 'brew for the PSP.

Also based on the card game from Final Fantasy VIII, Alpha Triple Triad v0.02 is still a work in progress but according to the people who's already tried it, it promises to be one awesome game. Right now, the core menu and the buying of cards for your deck is present and to place card on board, you press "Square".

Other features now included in this release:
  • Dual color menu (Black or White)
  • Music
  • Multiple Unlockable Card Backs (viewable in this Demo only)
  • Multiple Unlockable Game Boards
  • Two Save Files
  • Continue a game in play
There are a few known bugs with this current demo. Currently, cards will be unusable from NEW GAME and CONTINUE when you've already chosen them and then decided to back out. Since JBird is still working out the rules, gameplay is still in disarray - if anybody is willing to help him out, he'd love to hear from you. Future releases will also see 30 more cards available to play with; right now, JBird wasn't able to include them due to memory restrictions.

You can now have a go at Alpha Triple Triad v0.02. Let JBird know of any suggestions you might have by leaving a comment below. Enjoy!

Ó

joanJeanne d' Arc is a strategy RPG which mixes French history with videogame style fantasy made specifically for the PSP. In this blend of fact and fiction, all characters including Joan d'Arc, are half real and half fictitious...so you can't use this game as a substitute for your history books. The real Joan didn't fight monsters, dragons and skeleton soldiers. Don't put that in your book report. And she's not Joan of Arcadia, either. We recently posted a great article about Jeanne d' Arc includingits gameplay and "twists" and you can read about that here. If you're after Jeanne d' Arc scans, you can view them here.

If you want to see one of the first trailers of this game that every PSP fan is willing to burn at the stake for, you can click on the download link below.
