Homebrew developer Petru Toader (aka petru_bounty) just gave QJ.NET a heads up (thanks!) regarding a new build for the PSP Portal known as Black and White. Aside from the usual things that normally come with a portal, one of the many highlights of Petru Toader's creation is the inclusion of a Messenger and Mozilla Firefox browser.
Anyway, the new build brings Black and White up to v2.00 and we listed down below its other new features. Be sure that your PlayStation Portable is running on 2.71 or higher before loading this to your unit.
Anyway, Black and White v2.00 comes with a Readme and you know well how important it is for you to read that file first before doing anything. Download: Black and White v2.00 |

A few days ago, PSP homebrew developer Petru Toader (aka petru_bounty) dropped us a line about the release of Black and White, a Flash portal for the PSP. The portal included several interesting functions, including 70 Flash Games, applications, and even a Mozilla Firefox browser.
As a follow-up to this previous release, Petru Toader dropped by earlier to inform us and the rest of the PSP community of the release of Black and White version 1.5. This new release carries even more games, and a readme file to help newcomers get started in its use. Here's the full update details:

Petru Toader (aka petru_bounty) dropped us a line earlier here at QJ.NET earlier to let us know about the release of a new PSP portal. The net Flash Portal, dubbed Black and White, contains (homebrew) games and applications in its database, including tools like Pixel Fixer, Magic 8 Ball, and Paint. Here's a basic rundown of the rest of its features: Installation instructions for this PSP portal should be available in the file bundle's readme. With that said, we hope the guys here enjoy this new release for their PSP - make sure to thank Petru Toader if you enjoyed using Black and White. Download: Black and White PSP Portal |

It must be the week for portal releases, as there's another one on the loose. After mentioning the release of DarkPortal and Pro-Messenger, Hunter Onhika sent in a tip about a rebuild of pspWxp, known as Encore. According to the pspWxp forums, pspWxp Encore v4 is the first beta out for the portal. They don't intend to offer a release date till they know how long it'll take, but until then, you can enjoy this portal. They also mention that the interface currently uses the Linux-based K Desktop Environment, and will feature additional themes later on. As for functionality, their progress is currently at 40 percent, so expect bugs here and there. Still, their readme is very instructive, featuring installation instructions and some troubleshooting tips. In any case, the full article gives the changelog and status updates they've posted on their forums. Give it a try, and let them know what you think. Enjoy! The ability to download high-resolution PSP formatted AVC video through the P-TV service has been one of the highlights of PSP gaming for many Japanese gamers, but unfortunately, Sony hasn't even thought about bringing the service to the U.S. or other territories across the globe - or have they? Using this guide, courtesy of IGN's nixice, you can browse the P-TV website on any computer with an internet connection (no Japanese IP address required), and using a temporary account, browse through the store and download free videos, some of which are in English! You don't have to be fluent in Japanese either, as with a quick glance at this tutorial and a bit of patience, you too could be watching full resolution 480x272 AVC video on your PSP; previously only possible using homebrew and converting your own video. all thanks to P-TV Japan. The trick is to identify which content you would like to watch and wouldn't mind listening to in Japanese rather than downloading some feature length film which you won't understand. Find out how to get free high-res videos for your PSP after the Jump! |
