The mean machines of Ford have been able to show off what they were capable of doing in the Canyon trailer video we previously posted. For this update, a PSP trailer showcases how these cars are able to transform themselves from the showroom to the dirt roads. Catch the video after the jump! |

The last few iterations of the Ford video game franchise enjoyed moderate successes in the market. But a lot of people argue that the series is still lacking that one defining title that will establish Ford's foothold in the racing genre. Empire Interactive is planning to change all that as it announced Ford Off Road for the PSP, PS2, and PC.
Compared to the previous titles, one of the more interesting changes to Ford Off Road is that the licensed vehicles in the game are now allowed to get dirty and receive body damage. Empire simply explained that the car companies have "relaxed" their laws a bit on this matter. There are still no specific details as to how many vehicles will be available this time but Empire Interactive mentioned that there will be more than 24 tracks spanning across various environments like mountains, forests and deserts. Some of the race modes will include Time Trial and Show Me The Money. The main campaign will last a regular player for about 15 hours. Curiously, Empire Interactive wasn't able to furnish any information regarding the multiplayer mode for the PC version. PlayStation Portable players need not worry on that aspect as the company mentioned that six players can race it out in one go using the handheld's Wi-Fi connection. Ford Off Road is expected to come out this November. |

Hot on the heels of the game's announcement come these 7 new screenshots from Ford Street Racing: LA Duel, and while they're not really in-game screens per se, they do a good job of showing off some of the cars available in the game. You can see the SVT Cobra above, while the other pictures include prestigious models like the GT90, Shelby GR-1, Mustang GT, and SVT Sport Trac Adrenalin, some of which are exclusive to the PSP version of the game. The full game will provide players with a total of 24 cars, which they can then compete with on 37 richly detailed tracks based around the streets of Los Angeles..

There's so many racing games on the PSP, it's not even funny. We can't even remotely guess the exact number anymore. Anyway, it's our job to preview upcoming games. The one in question here is Ford Street Racing: LA Duel. Alright, so the name can use a bit of work, but then, it would be the last of our worries if we're making a game. What matters is gameplay and replayability. And the creators can only hope that they have enough of it. “Ford Street Racing: LA Duel on PSP is where it belongs, on the move and on the streets. With Wi-Fi multiplayer and even more performance Ford cars to choose from, this is the ultimate Ford Street Racing experience,” commented James Spice, General Manager of Xplosiv, the game's creators. Now that's a big claim, we hope they can fulfill it. Looking at the name, it's most likely a Ford-only racing game. Now we've always loved Muscle cars, so that's one point. And there's loads of 'em cars, new and old. Here's the complete list:
Now let us run you guys through the features of the game:

While news of actress Emmanuelle Vaugier making an appearance in Need For Speed: Carbon has already been confirmed, an official list of the available cars in the game has yet to be released. We do have an unofficial list, though, and while this isn't final, a good number of these cars will be playable.
[edit] Sorry for the confusion. Seems "Lancer" was mistranslated to "to throw", as was "Charger". "Carrera" became "to square" and even "or" was mistranslated to "gold". Thanks to darkz, drew4237, and wekilledbambi03 for pointing out the mistakes. Again, apologies. |
