Well what do you know, UK's first magazine dedicated to the PSP - Go>Play - has featured homebrew in their 10th issue with Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories on the cover. SteveV2 was kind enough to share screens of the magazine with us. How kind? He actually ripped the pages off to make better scans. The 300dpi images covers the 2.80 FW getting cracked, a GBA emulator being developed, and even a step by step guide to set up PSPMaster. If you enjoyed browsing through these scans, why not get the real glossy deal? Just head on to Go>Play's official site through the read link to get your monthly dose of PSP madness. |

We at QJ.net have been given an exclusive sneak preview of what you may expect to see in Rockstar's upcoming PSP title Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. An abundance of information has been released on the game lately, but thanks to dedicated PSP magazine Go>Play, which isn't released until August 24th, we can give even more information on the sequel to the best-selling PSP title to date. Here's all what we have gathered: Missions:
Our friends at Go>Play magazine also got a chance to hear a small selection of the 80's tracks that you could be listening to in October when the game is release. Although they may not make the final game, it's logical to assume that they wouldn't cut them out. 80's sounds such as Blondie, Frankie Goes To Hollywood and Depeche Mode are just a few that you can expect, if you can remember the eighties. Oh wait, GTA gamers are all 18+ so most of you should remember the 80's, right? More!

High-flying UK PSP Magazine Go>Play have managed to score an exclusive Interview with Daniel Navarro, Game Director for the upcoming PSP title Gangs of London. The Game is set in the criminal underworld of London, and has been promised by the developers to be much more than just a portable version of The Getaway. With the addition of Pub minigames and a selection of 4 playable games, this mini version of London for the PSP packs a solid gaming punch. You wouldn't Adam and Eve [believe] it! The interview with the UK's best selling PSP Magazine starts with asking Daniel Navarro whether he dug up gangster movies in order to grasp the inspirations for the game. Navarro revealed that the Gangs Of London team have read books like Gangland Britain and True Crime, with the whole team living in London, but of course, they have used bit of dramatising in order to make the game enjoyable to play. As Navarro himself said "there aren't that many running gun battles on the streets of London!". Those of you who still think that this is just a mini version of The Getaway will be disgruntled when you hear that the team came across no limitations when making the game for the PSP, as it has been designed for the PSP from the ground up with short bursts of entertainment making it perfect for a spot of portable fun. Likewise, no problems came with the PSP's control system, as everything was designed to fit the PSP specifically. You can also look forward to new characters and more humour! No long loading times on this one, as the whole map will be loaded at one time. Yes, this means the whole of London from The Getaway can be loaded at one time, with no annoying GTA-esque loading times throughout the map. According to Navarro, the game uses really smart compression stuff! The game is due for release this fall if you steer clear of the pirated version. If you want to take Gangs of London for a test drive, why not sign up for the official Demo for free. In case you've never heard of Go>Play magazine before, it's a dedicated PSP magazine which features UMD Games, Movies, PSP News and Homebrew each month. PSPRadio has managed to hit the press in this magazine before, with Snes9xTYL taking the glory this month. The next issue of Go>Play goes on sale tomorrow in all good UK retailers. You can find out more on Gangs of London in this issue as the writers of Go>Play have managed to squeeze 8 information-packed pages into their latest issue. See the two scans here for a sneak preview. Don't be sad if you are from the US! You can still order Go>Play magazine on subscription for worldwide delivery through their website!

Only the greatest of homebrew games for the PSP attract the attention of the media, and this month it was the turn of Raf's brilliant PSPRadio online radio streaming application, as it appeared in the sixth issue of PSP-dedicated UK magazine Go>Play. I've never read the magazine before, but it seems like they feature a homebrew application in their 'connect' section of the magazine every month, and this month it was PSPRadio. ![]() The article features an extensive review and a how-to guide for those wanting to install and use PSPRadio - they even have PSPUpdates in the background! The article has much more than what you can see here, including skins, option settings and more. If you wish to buy it, Issue 6 of Go>Play magazine can be found in UK stores until 29th June, when Issue 7 will be released. Anybody from outside of the UK can order Go>Play magazine through their website. My point is, it's nice for homebrew applications to get media attention like this. I know how hard Raf works on PSPRadio, and this magazine coverage is well deserved. Raf isn't the only one, with many other developers working freely for our enjoyment. Go>Play features a different homebrew application every month, so get coding! Who knows, next month your homebrew game/application could be in the place of PSPRadio next month! Thanks for the images Albadross! |
