PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior - Image 1The Japan-only PSP title Evangelion: Jo made waves this week not because of its gameplay or anything, but because of a new anti-CFW feature built into it. It's not exactly new since there have been other PSP games that implemented CFW checks before, but it does drive home the point that developers are taking it into their own hands to keep PSP piracy at bay. Not sure how long the protection on the game will last though. The homebrew scene generally gets fired up even more when stuff like this comes out. Read on for a recap of the week in homebrew.

We also saw some updates for great homebrew games like Apollonia and Wagic as well as for homebrew apps like the Custom Firmware Enabler. PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior - Image 1A lot of applications made for the ChickHEN homebrew enabler were released this week, and arguably the one that made the most noise was Xenogears and Becus25's Custom Firmware Enabler. We also saw quite a few homebrew games this week, but the emulators were the ones who hogged the spotlight in the homebrew gaming scene. Read on for the rest of the PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior.

Sony PSP - Image 1Japanese homebrew developer for the PSP, Takka, has released his latest brew, the UO gpsp kai 3.4 test 1 build 2. Whew, that sure was a mouthful. But just as jampacked is this neat little package. It sure's been a while since he last updated his kai build, and this is more than a welcomed comeback.

PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior - Image 1Another week, another edition of the PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior. Things were a bit quiet this week on the homebrew front compared to last week's big ChickHEN coup. Perhaps devs are still working on their apps, games, and other homebrew offerings for the newly-cracked PSP-3000. Maybe we'll see more next week. For now, here are the big homebrew releases for this week.

HEN update - Image 1First things first: No, Davee hasn't finished the HEN yet. Which means it isn't out yet. What we do have today is some visual confirmation that the HEN can indeed run emulators, in this case the GBA emulator gpSP. Yeah, it's just a pic, but it does show progress. Check it out after the jump.
