The PlayStation Store North American update rolled into action earlier
but somehow, our article just got lost in the mix. Now moving on to
this week content update, the much awaited debut of Capcom's
downloadable fighter Marvel Vs Capcom 2 is now up for grabs. Also included in this week's lineup is the latest edition of PULSE, three PSone classic games, the LittleBigPlanet Historical Pack, new add-on contents for PAIN, Disgaea 3, Red Faction Guerrilla and more. |

You may love 'em or hate 'em but let's face it, the contributions of bosses to gaming are almost as important as those of the good guys themselves. In this edition of the QuickList, we're honoring the cream of the crop among the bad guys. The criteria? We scrutinized each based on what he had to offer and what he does best. Whether it's style, toughness or infamy, we took them by what they had to offer and we found 10 left standing. Again, this is all subjective and your opinions are as good as ours. Here they are: 10. The Polar Bear (Ice Climber)- After hours of grueling debates on the subject of whether he's even a boss or not, the Ice Climber Polar Bear has eked his way to a cliff-hanging tenth spot on this list. There's not a lot to say about him in terms of difficulty, but gamers from the past know what time it is when they see the hot, red briefs over the off-white fur. It means you're taking too long to climb and he'll force-advance the level with a jumping fart. Usually, there's no problem getting to his face and pounding his toes with a mallet, but when playing with a friend or sibling, it sparks an unfriendly war of who gets to nail him. The only way to make sure that you do the honors is to sabotage your partner with guerrilla tactics like unorthodox body checks and busting the floors where they stand. We won't be surprised to hear about domestic violence resulting from this scenario. The rest of the bad-ass bosses await after the jump! |

Sebastian Downie

Former Producer of Killzone: Liberation and now Test Lead/QA Manager for Guerrilla Games Sebastian Downie recently sat down with website Killzone Unit in an interview about the success of Killzone on both handheld and console, and what the PS3 sequel to the PlayStation 2 FPS is all about. We give you the skinny on all things Killzone. In the interview, Sebastian Downie talks about the difference between Killzone for the PSP and Killzone for the PS2 - one major difference being that the switch from first person to an isometric gameplay view. He explains that the change was necessary to give the game a pick-up-and-play aspect, for those of us who pull out our handhelds during daily commute or while going number two. He also points out that the camera angle gave players a peek of what lies beyond their characters, which in turn allows them to plan ahead in terms of strategy. When asked if players should look forward to more downloadable patches and content for Liberation, Sebastian replied with a firm no, stating the difficulty of a company running a development team to make free patches month after month - it would drain the company as a whole. Another reason is that the whole team is now preoccupied with developing a PS3 game, there wouldn't be enough manpower to go around. Finally, when pressed for more info about Killzone for the PS3, Sebastian Downie merely restated what we all already know: that it's going to be an FPS, and there's going to be a Public Beta later in the year. Other than that, he kept mum, and we can't blame him - Killzone 3 for the PS3 is definitely going to be big. Updates as we get them. In the meantime, you can check out the full interview at the read link below. |

Well, we found a gamer over at Video Gamers of America who managed to pick up the new update for Killzone: Liberation. As you can see below, he's taken quite a number of screenshots of the action. What you'll be seeing below are screens from some of the multiplayer objectives out for Guerrilla Games' shooter, such as Capture the Flag and Team Deathmatch. There's also some regular deathmatch screens in there, though we're not entirely sure which action shots are for which game. Regardless, there are a lot of them, which means more gaming enjoyment for all of us as we patiently wait for our Killzone downloads to finish. More killer screenshots after the jump! |

What exactly is his role at Guerrilla Games? Apparently, he's the guy who does the scheduling and balancing work - currently his doing this for Killzone 2. It's his job to make sure they're on the right track, that they're moving close to the game they're creating step by step. He worked on Killzone: Liberation for the PSP as his first game and he obviously enjoyed it. "It’s great to see early concepts come to life" he says. During the interview, Heide also expressed his joy and satisfaction when people at E3 went straight to multiplayer after touching their handheld demos. With the focus being on making Killzone: Liberation enjoyable in multiplayer, he commented "we knew we were definitely on the right track", after getting positive comments during the big conference. "After the first 2 minutes... people want to get their hands on it themselves, because it just looks like fun!" he adds. The rest of the interview went on with him talking about his favorites from Liberation, level 2.1 being his favorite stage and Cobar's revolver his favorite weapon. When asked about making a sequel, he said he just wants more of the same since the original already has a lot of features. Lastly, he was asked to finish the following sentence: “Working at Guerrilla Games is similar to slaving in the Helghan Mines because…” His response? "…I’m not answering this question as I am the slave-driver. Now get back to work!" |
