If you're a fan of the Marvel Comic turned film Ghost Rider, then this should press all the right buttons. Marvel's comics has an underlying element to them: death, destruction, and of course bad guys; and Ghost Rider has these in abundance. Riding around on what appears to be the devil's motorcycle as a devilish being and slashing through your enemies with your firepower (literally) cannot be beaten - especially when all of these can be achieved on a portable console. The Ghost Rider trailer shows off the game's impressive fighting and riding modes, some heavy metal music and some amazing graphics - including an array of brightly-colored fighting moves in both CGI and real time gameplay. Riding the motorcycle might remind some of you of the classic PSX game Road Rash, with a slightly more hellish theme. You get to use a fiery chainsaw to know your opponents off their bikes, and if you have played Road Rash then you'll know that it's quite fun. Caution: This trailer contains loud music, even louder sound effects, and an element of hellish demon-slashing Download: [Ghost Rider trailer] |

Earache Extreme Metal Racing is two kinds of metal rolled into one. An alloy, if you will. First there's the vehicles. Trucks, cars, evil spiky machines that look like they came from Pinhead's custom car garage or something. And then there's the music. Napalm Death, Severe Torture, Morbid Angel. This is heavy metal, in all senses of the word. Anyway, we've got a new trailer of the game for you guys today. A word of caution, though: this one is not for those with really sensitive ears. Heck, this one could probably cause tinnitus in one go if you turn the volume up loud enough. Oh well, if that happens, you can pretend you're a rock star. Lots of 'em have that constant ringing in their ears from all the cranked-up amps surrounding them all day. Check out the video. It's got lots of gut-wrenching, adrenaline-pumping, scissor-snipping, guitar-bashing action. Just click on the download link below to let the roaring begin. What better venue to introduce a game designed for heavy metal fans but the annual Metal Hammer Golden Gods awards show? Dubbed as "the only truly genuine metal awards show in the world", Golden Gods gives metal fans a chance to brush shoulders with their idols. And the fourth Golden Gods, happening this June 12 at London's Koko venue, will also let both fans and artists try out the Metro 3D Publishing game Earache Extreme Metal Racing.Five PlayStation 2 pods will be placed in the event so that the public and the bands can get a first taste of the upcoming PSP, PS2, and PC game. Although the playable Earache Extreme Metal Racing will be the PS2 version, it will still give you guys a good idea if this game's as sweet as Metro 3D pictures it to be. So if you'll be in the area on June 12, don't forget to check out the Golden Gods event - if not for the game, at least for the chance to see your favorite metal bands performing. Earache Extreme Metal Racing rocks its way to the PSP on July 7. |

I received this email from a college friend. It's one of those forwarded emails telling you in the first line, "BEWARE! The end of the world is here!!!" You're not affected but you read the whole thing anyway, just for fun. The email ranted about the devil's coming on his day - June 6, 2006 (6-6-06) - and his recruitment of people who'll help him conquer the world. But at the end of the long email, you realize it was a joke because of the parting line: "But have no fear. Because Shaider (a Japanese character who's dubbed as 'Policeman of the Space') will join forces with the Power Rangers to help us all fight evil." This time off, with Metro 3D's 6-6-06 warning, you can bet your boots that they're not joking. Their warning goes: Choose your own heading...or death! Indeed, Judgement day is near...judgement for Earache Extreme Metal Racing, that is. Eversince the announcement of this rubber-burning title for the PSP, heavy metal fans have been raring to experience racing through hell and other wastelands with Earache Records' music playing in the background. Metro 3D now give you a chance to try out the experience with a demo game coming to their 'special' website. The demo is coming to all heavy metal and gaming fans on June 6, 2006 (is it coincidence or a 'smart' marketing strategy?). This may be a PC demo but it will give you a feel of the game and let you decide whether you want to get it for your PSP. The demo will showcase a level that will place you in the bowels of hell, racing against demons on a devilish backdrop of fire and brimstone. Your opponents are hell-bent on making sure you don't reach the pole alive so be prepared to dodge blood-soaked spinning blades and hammers. The Earache Extreme Metal Racing website currently features a countdown to the demo release. As of press time, there are 44 days, 6 hours, and 4 minutes to Hell. |
