Avatar: The Game - Image 1Sigourney Weaver passed up on lending her voice for Ghostbusters: The Video Game, but that doesn't mean she's never going to try her hand at doing voiceovers in video games. Straight off from the news that the King of Pop has died, we went on to have the usual string of gaming news that rocked our own worlds. With the usual news on lawsuits, layoffs, company shutdowns, convicted murderers over consoles, it was looking to be a sad state of affairs. On Shelves This Week: May 17 to May 23, 2009 - Image 1After last week's rather paltry offerings, we finally get a hefty bunch of new releases. The PSP gets the shaft again this week with no releases, followed by the PC which has only one actual playable new game out. OK, there are two PC titles in the list, but come on. Hannah Montana? Meanwhile, the DS gets more than the usual amount of good games. Really, there are only a couple of shovelware titles in there. Usually they make up like 60% of the DS list. The home console releases are also in top form. Read on for the rest of this week's software releases!

MGSTo many a gamer, the name David Hayter rings a bell. Most of us would know him as the voice behind Solid Snake in the MGS series. But he's also got his screenwriting career under his belt (X-Men, Watchmen). In this video interview, he reveals that Hollywood politics may have blasted his chances for penning the MGS movie, however, he's looking rather optimistic.

Megan Fox - Image 1Oh, foxy lady getting some action, eh? Fresh from The Transformers movie and well into production for Transformers 2, Megan Fox is now currently being rumored to play Tomb Raider babe Lara Croft in the next installment of the TR movie franchise.

Yeah, if she's not running around after the All-Spark, she's now going to hunt down other ancient relics.

DragonballGames and movies, will they ever be seen under the same light? For the new Dragonball: Evolution game for the PSP, at least, maybe not. Then again, that's a different matter altogether... Enter EA CEO John Riccitiello talking about video games as an art form - he thinks that within five years, the game industry may prove every one wrong, that games do have the potential to be considered just as impressive as movies and books.
