Developer Zack is announcing the release of Wolfenstein 3D v3.0, a PSP port of id Software's FPS of the same name. This build features full PSP Slim and sound support, among other updates. Details are available in the full article.

If you're feeling down about not being able to play some of the more classic FPS homebrew games using the latest PlayStation Portable custom firmware, then don't despair. Developer CoderX was recently able to release a new 3.xx patch, which revives one of the best old school shooters on the Sony handheld with PSPDoom. More details about PSPDoom in our full article.

Normally, a major event such as E3 would have all the big name companies attending it.  This year will be different, though, as five publishers have decided to drop out of the event altogether. Part of the reason may be due to reported bad blood between them and ESA president Mike Gallagher. More on this after the jump.

Doom by id Software will always be looked back to as one of the games that made the most impact on gaming history, so it's not surprising if homebrew developers choose to tinker with it to make it playable on the Sony PSP. Portable servers may be as high-tech as your Cobalt Qube server (if you do have one), but the Sony PlayStation Portable can be just as useful if not as robust. Id Software, the guys responsible for Doom and Quake, recently branched out to create Id Mobile, who in turn will be developing games for mobile phones, the DS and the PSP. Renowned video game development studio id Software Fountainhead Entertainment announced today a new partnership that will bring about the new division id Mobile. This new department is tasked to come up with games for mobile phones, Nintendo DS, and the Sony PlayStation Portable.

Prior to this official team up, the two companies have already collaborated before. Some of their games worth mentioning include Orcs & Elves for DS as well as Orcs & Elves II and Doom RPG for mobile phones. The full details after the jump!

We've just recieved word that Chilly Willy has released a new build of the much-loved PSP port of ID Software's Doom FPS.
