Jackass: The Game opens website - Image 1

In case you want to know, and we're pretty sure you want to know, MTV Games and Red Mile Entertainment just opened the site of their upcoming title Jackass: The Game. This renegade title based form the similarly renegade TV series will be released on September 24 for the PlayStation Portable, PlayStation 2 (PS2), and Nintendo DS.

The official website features different sections for News, Videos, Gallery, Forums, as well as a Game Overview section for those not familiar with the title. Speaking of which, Jackass: The Game will feature around 35 stunts that include uni-cycling through a construction site, rolling down San Fran's streets in a trash can, and bumper car races across New York among others.

"For years on Jackass, we stressed 'do not try the stunts we do at home', but with our new Jackass video game, you can now try our stunts at home but only while playing the video game - you little juvenile delinquents," commented MTV's Jackass star Johnny Knoxville.

Jackass: The Game - Image 1A few more details for the PSP version of Sidhe Interactive and Empire Interactive's Jackass: The Game have surfaced via a recent press release from Red Mile Entertainment and MTV Games.

The game features quite a lot of cool stuff: more than 35 scenarios, detailed ragdoll modelling, dynamic physics and a detailed in-game injury system that keeps track of the amount of punishment players inflict upon the game's characters.

The PSP version will also feature unlockable footage from the Jackass TV series. There's also a replay engine that will allow players to save and edit their very own Jackass moments. These replays and clips can then be shared with other players through the PSP's wireless connection feature.

Since this is from a press release (which are known for being riddled with quotes and the like), let's end this post with a quote from Johnny Knoxville:

For years on Jackass, we stressed 'do not try the stunts we do at home'. But with our new Jackass video game, you can now try our stunts at home ... but only while playing the video game -- you little juvenile delinquents!

Jackass: The Game is currently slated for a September 24 release.

Jackass: The Game coming to PSP, DS, and PS2 - Image 1You are all familiar with how the TV series Jackass goes: Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Steve-O, and the rest of the gang perform awe-inspiring stunts while making themselves look downright stupid. Now, you shouldn't expect anything less from the upcoming title Jackass: The Game.

The video game is being developed by Sidhe Interactive and will be published by Empire Interactive with the help of MTV Games' Red Mile Entertainment. The group of Knoxville also talked with the developers to help bring some stunts that they've thought of using before but never really made it in either the show or the film. Johnny Knoxville commented,

It is kind of odd that people will take on our personas and depressing that they're going to have to do that. We've never really worked on anything like this before. This is our first video game. We just hope that our video game is as crappy as our movies.

Aside from the already announced PlayStation Portable (PSP) and PlayStation 2 (PS2) versions, Red Mile Entertainment mentioned that a DS version of the title will also be released alongside the other two on September 24. Senior Director Sales and Marketing at Red Mile Henry Price uttered,

Most of what we have in the game are extreme versions of the original stunts. These stunts are set up like mini games, which provides a great deal of diversity in the gameplay. We have the luxury of throwing characters off a 50-story building into a pile of elephant dung without worrying about our insurance rates.

Speaking of which, there will be a total of 35 stunts including bumper car races across New York rooftops, uni-cycling though a construction site, rolling down San Francisco streets in a trash can, and destroying a golf course with a golf car. True to the TV show, stunts will not always go as planned.

Players will always have the option to "Bail Out" which will throw the character into a ragdoll position and tallies up the resulting injuries. Take note that you are playing Jackass, meaning higher scores will be given as more punishments are inflicted upon the characters.

Jackass

Johnny Knoxville and the gang are set to make a ruckus over at your PSP. Being developed by Sidhe Interactive, Jackass: The Game will feature Online Play via Infrastructure Mode, Game Share Multiplayer, as well as Downloadable Content.

From whatever little info is known about this game, what is certain is that it will be just as wacky and crazy as the TV series. We may also very well expect it to have a Mature rating from the ESRB given that their pranks are not exactly what you'd say wholesome, or for the family.

Anyway, this game's good for as much as up to four players, so we're sure you're gonna enjoy catching your peers with their pants down in this game. It's set to be out both in Europe and Australia by December 31 of next year. No date is set as of yet for the U.S. release.

Keep it posted here for more updates. Meanwhile enjoy these screenshots.
