For the guys still wondering how the PSP-Devolution modchip will handle, we've picked a news bit that should help you along. PSP mod guru jrfhoutx has announced that he's going to be reviewing the Devolution, to be released in segments.

This video will be the first part of the said review, and will begin with jrfhoutx installing the said USB-JTAG Programmer into the PlayStation Portable. Just in case the video title gave you the wrong ideas: jrfhoutx is letting the viewers know that this is not to be used as an installation guide for their own modchip. That's all for the moment - we'll let you guys know in case the modder brings up the rest of the review vids. Happy viewing!

Kudos to Foo foo for telling us about this release!

We'll be introducing another PSP mod today, created by AcidMods resident jrfhoutx. The mod in question is a set of Push Activated Face Buttons which, as described, lights up the PSP's four primary face buttons by a set of internally mounted LEDs. Here's a video demonstrating how this mod works:

In case you missed it, the PSP appears to be clad in Camy Pro Gear's newer PSP faceplates. One problem jrfhoutx reports during the attempt involves the different MCD ratings the different LED colors had - the modder plans to resolve this in the near future. jrfhoutx further credits TR4G- for giving him the idea, and F00 f00 and CyberProt for helping him further along. Stick around in case we pick up more news on this mod (and hopefully a tutorial).

We've got some nice, big photos of the new Camy Pro Gear PSP faceplates set for release soon. The PSP faceplates' colors are pretty hot and should please a lot of PSP fans. Check them out:

The manufacturers say that the new faceplates are built from the same material as those of earlier models. They should be pretty sturdy and are billed to fit tight on the handheld. We'll let you know if the claims hold true when news is forthcoming.

Camy Pro even held a faceplate design contest recently, with winning entries getting featured by the manufacturers. If you think these designs don't suit your taste, you can have your PSP faceplate personalized to suit your personality. The Camy Pro Gear line was well received by PSP lovers for their nice breed of style and quality.

The faceplates are slated for release on May 5th. We hope the new models hold the same quality as those we've come to expect from the brand. Thanks to jrfhoutx for the heads-up.
