The second set of screenshots for SEGA's upcoming PSP title, Tenchu: Time of the Assassins have been let loose. The stealth action game will be coming to the PSP on June 23rd this year, and features the ability to play both head-to-head and cooperatively with friends using the PSP's Ad-Hoc capability; along with the added extra of being able to create your own stages and share them with friends, also via Ad-Hoc download. As Tenchu fans probably already know, the game is being made by in co-operation with FromSoftware and K2 studios - the developers of Technu: Fatal Shadows for the PS2, to ensure the quality of this game. This game is sure to be a cracker, and judging by this monster set of screens this is no home console rip-off. Tenchu: Time of the Assassins is a thoroughbred PSP title, so get ready for some portable Ninja action!

SEGA have announced that the first Tenchu game for the a handheld console, Tenchu: Time of the Assassins, will be released exclusively for the PSP on June 23rd, 2006. SEGA has partnered with FromSoftware and K2 Studios - developers of Tenchu: Fatal Shadows for the PS2 - to continue the legacy of the Tenchu franchise on Sony's handheld console. The Tenchu fans amongst you will be pleased to hear that the complex 3D environments the series is known for have been carried over on the PSP in their entirety, with no small detail overlooked. This game won't be a bad quality home console Tenchu rip-off. Enhanced stealth manoeuvres challenge your ninja skills, and all-new kill moves add yet more realism and entertainment to this ninja-based action adventure. Now, every enemy is susceptible to carefully planned stealth kills – even the end level bosses! Matt Woodley, Creative Director of SEGA said "Tenchu’s gameplay offers all the strategy of a stealth game but none of the frustration. This next release represents SEGA’s commitment to providing compelling new content to the handheld market” . Classic Tenchu characters such as Rikimaru, Ayame, Rin, and Tesshu will return for Time of the Assassins, with each character tied to a different story, and each story offers different levels to play through. In addition to the scenario mode, there is also a ‘free mission’ mode that’s comprised of 50 independent missions to enjoy after you have completed the single-player campaign. Tenchu: Time of the Assassins will also feature to ability to play head-to-head and cooperatively with friends using the PSP's Ad-Hoc feature; along with the ability to create your own stages and share them with friends, also via ad hoc download.
