You know all those complaints about the proprietary UMD format for the PSP? They don't really matter now because Sony wasn't planning on having it as a PSP game format for very long. In fact, the plan was to release a PSP that had no UMD drive all along. That's what Sony is saying anyway. Up to you whether you believe it or not, but one thing's clear: Sony is putting all its weight behind digital distribution. Last time, we brought you the trivia about Dissidia originally being made for the PlayStation 2. Today, we have another delightful small-talk piece concerning the game that every PSP owner's got to be waiting for, Dissidia: Final Fantasy. This time, it's about DFF originating from Kingdom Hearts.

In an interview with Ultimania back in May, Tetsuya Nomura let out a lot of info about the Kingdom Hearts series, spanning from Kingdom Hearts II, to Birth by Sleep, Coded, and 358/2 Days, and the relevant plotlines that each of these games have with each other. Our focus today is on the one we know the least about - the elusive Kingdom Hearts III.

With the announcement of their E3 lineup this year, Square Enix moves into the expo aiming to show a broader variety of games than the ones we usually see. Taking their partnerships with other developers, the A-list publisher will showcase different game genres in their booth, apart from their arsenal of heavyweight franchises of course.

When you're talking about Square Enix in a global scale, there's no doubting that they've managed to rake in huge amounts of sales for all their franchises. Final Fantasy? Kingdom Hearts? And of course, the more recently acquired Tomb Raider? How do they all stack up against each other? It's not surprising that they're raking sales by the millions for these big franchises. I'm just left wondering... how do they fare against lifetime sales for MGS, GTA, CoD, and the like?

This is gonna be a good one. Square Enix has announced the upcoming release of the Kingdom Hearts Piano Collection, featuring the relaxing music from the Kingdom Hearts franchise. Even the battle music is relaxing, and having them on piano just makes the perfect gaming RnR.

Thanks to the recently-concluded Game Developers Conference, we had a glut of news bits this week. Some of them are still quite vague, like Sony's awesome new game title (the title's awesome. I have no idea what the game's like) and the hints about a new Square Enix game, but we did also get some definites this week.
