GameSpot AU have scored interviews with Krome Studios on the newest Hellboy game, Hellboy: The Science of Evil. This latest installment finds Hellboy chasing after a crazed witch. The story is split up in chapters and smaller story arcs which contribute to the greater story arc, which ultimately leads him to a climactic confrontation with Hermann Von Klempt. The creators, wanting to stay true to the spirit of Hellboy, dives headfirst into the challenge of translating the game into the different consoles. Although the PSP will be substituting 2D animation for the sequences that will be found on the consoles, the main story will be the same across all the consoles. And according to Rich Foster, "both the console and handheld versions involve a decent amount of face punching and hitting bad guys with large objects." Bad guys with face full of stone fist. Rock. Liz Sherman and Abe Sapien will be playable characters. Liz will of course remain the hot pyrokinetic we all love her to be, and Abe will be kicking ass with his "fantastic array of martial arts moves and pulls off incredibly fast combos and strikes." Both interviews mention a special appearance, but both also refuse to go any further on the topic. Such a tease. HellBoy: The Science of Evil, will be released on the Xbox 360, the PS3 and the PSP. The game will feature co-op and multiplayer options available for online or split-screen gameplay. It is currently in its beta version and projected to be released by the end of the year. Blu-Ray capabilities will feature bonuses like behind the scenes footage and interviews with Mike Mignola, Guillermo del Toro, Ron Perlman. A sequel to the movie was also mentioned, and projected to be released by mid-2008. |

Fans of the Right Hand of Doom heads up! We've got some new cool assets for Hellboy (PS3, 360, PSP)
courtesy of developer Krome Studios and publisher Konami. Take note
that the artwork are for all platforms while the screenshots are exclusive for the PlayStation 3.Anyway, Hellboy is very much based on the movie, unlike the other video game Hellboy: Asylum Seeker that was released on the original PlayStation (PSOne) and Games for Windows (PC) platforms by Cryo Interactive. After all, movie director Guillermo del Toro is very much involved in the new title. Aside from having Hellboy himself beating up the bad guys with his big stone hand or gun Samaritan, fans will also get some action from other characters like Liz Sherman and Abe Sapien. If you want to know more, you can always check out our previous reports or QJ.Net's exclusive interview with game producer Paul Armatta. Hellboy will be released on all platforms sometime in Q3 2007. Jay of TheForce.Net gives us the lowdown on the details revealed in a Game Informer feature regarding details surrounding LucasArts' upcoming Star Wars: Force Unleashed. First off, the various platforms the game is made for and who will be responsible for each version. You guys already probably know a lot about the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game, so we'll skip to the rest. Krome Studios will be responsible for the PSP and PS2 version of the game, while n-Space will be handling the DS version. As for the Wii, well, a version for Nty's console is not likely. And if there will be a Wii version, it won't be what fans expect. A LucasArts representative says, "Even if that version does happen, it probably wouldn't be "the lightsaber game" that gamers have eagerly been awaiting." This trailer gives us a chance to look at the interface of the game, as your character fights off enemies left, right, and center. It's a fully 3D environment, with enemies coming at you from all angles and your health bar in the right corner including a small Hellboy icon, which you can almost call Street Fighter-esque. There's also a rage bar in the corner that should allow you to do special moves. Before you watch the trailer, we'll have to warn you: There's no age rating on this but there is quite a lot of bone crunching in this one. The squeamish should look away now. It's at the early stages of development and does look pretty good, but we're worried that there will be too much general fighting as you can see in the trailer. And this, as every gamer knows, can be repetitive and quite boring. As long as the developers over at Krome Studios take note of this and include a bit of platform gameplay to supplement the fighting, this should be a big hit as all comic hero-turned-videogame hero titles are. |

You know the drill. You've got Nazis on one side, and a huge red demon on your side. Some major ass-kicking ensues, usually ending with a bunch of Nazi bodies lying on the floor. Throw in some wise-cracking humor, and you've got pretty much how things usually go when Hellboy drops in for a visit. Anyway, the popular comic book and movie character is heading for consoles soon with the upcoming release of the Hellboy game for PS3, PSP, and Xbox 360. Developed by Krome Studios, this title will let players unleash the fury of Hell itself on hordes of enemies using Hellboy's superhuman abilities. Hellboy is slated for a Q3 2007 release. For now, check out how the working man's demon wreaks rightful havoc on his enemies in the screenshots below. The full article awaits after the jump! |

Since its debut in E3, Hellboy hasn't made an appearance until now. Gamespot was able to get a video of the gameplay even when the game is still in development. For those unfamiliar with this hellspawn, Hellboy was created by Dark Horse Comics. Konami teamed up with Krome Studios to bring Hellboy to three different consoles: Xbox360, PS3, and PSP.It will feature a different story from the movie and a co-op mode that will allow players to use Abe Sapien (the green egg eating guy from the movie) and Liz Sherman (the literally volatile girl). The story revolves around Hellboy going against the Nazis and Hermann von Klempt once again. Players would be able to use Hellboy's Right Hand of Doom. It charges energy or rage whenever you beat enemies and enables Hellboy to do chain combos for maximum damage. Players fill up a combo meter to gain rewards at the end of each level. There's also an inventory system that allows players to slot in useful items. Don't want the brawler type of gameplay? Hellboy also sports a gun with different kinds of bullets. Hellboy will debut on the consoles this year so stay glued for updates. Meanwhile, you can click the link below for the gameplay vid. Download: [Hellboy Gameplay Video] |
