It looks like someone out there in internet-land really loves Rukia Kuchiki from the animated series "Bleach". Over on our forums, Rukia completed what appears to be the first part of a Rukia Kuchiki-based fighting homebrew game, called Saving Ichigo Pt. 1. In Saving Ichigo Pt. 1, Rukia is tasked with finding out where Ichigo went off to. Along the way, she meets other characters from different anime series, such as Sasuke from "Naruto" and Goku from "Dragon Ball Z", having to fight them to advance the storyline in the game. Here are the game controls:

Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) has announced that its Taipei-based SOGA studio together with Shanghai Northstar is developing a game based on the movie "Kung Fu Hustle". Players should be able to encounter familiar characters from the movie such as the Landlady, the Sidekick, Sin, among others. The video game should feature a branching story mode, and players should be able to hone their Kung-Fu skills by challenging a host of wacky enemies across China. The game should also have a versus mode that should allow for eight players to fight against each other in multiplayer mayhem. There are also plans to allow players to purchase extra lives and virtual items in exchange for cash. It was said that the game will be designed specifically for the Chinese market. We are hopeful though that we'll be able to get a subtitled version. Or even better, we hope that we'll get a badly dubbed version, complete with mismatched voice-timing. While we're eager to see Stephen Chow in a video game, some Kung-Fu fans here at QJ are sort of wishing that the movie "Shaolin Soccer" also gets the same treatment. The press announcement did not clarify for which platform the game will be made. Given that note on possible microtransactions for the game, we speculate that a PS3 release is likely. We'll update you as soon as more details are made available. |

Ever wonder how life was a street thug in the '70s? Rockstar Games will take us on another trip to gangland with this new PSP port of The Warriors. We can look past the funky hair and the tacky vests when we remember that this was based on a 1979 movie of the same name.
Anyway, you saw the official trailer just a couple of days ago. Now this new video features just how much violence it takes to make it on the virtual streets. Also, here's some helpful info to get to know the Warriors:

A legendary Playstation character is about to find his way to the PSP. He's short, has funny hair, carries a 'groovy' sense of fashion, and is on a journey to become a top Rapper and (of course) get the girl. Yes, it's PaRappa the Rapper! No official announcement has been made, but the game has been featured in hardcore gaming magazine Famitsu. If you can't remember PaRappa the Rapper we'll give you a brief overview.PaRappa is a music lover and to achieve his goals (whatever the main goal will be in the PSP version), you have to go along with the cheerful jungles of the game, pressing the corresponding buttons at the correct time to turn these cheerful jingles into a hit song. Past experiences for PaRappa included driving, working in a Flea Market and learning Kung Fu, all to impress a girl that looked like a flower. Despite the oddity of the game it was a big hit with gamers and was highly addictive. We'll have more on this when we receive an official press release, which we hope is very soon - we loved this game! |

Of course, many people don't see the point in buying UMD movies because you can just get them on DVD, but with 2 UMD Movies for £11.99, you aren't going to get two decent DVDs for that. Obviously, the only reason companies can afford to sell UMD movies for this kind of price is because of the state of UMD Movies production, with other big retailers such as Target and Wal-Mart pulling them from the shelves. Maybe this is Play's way of getting rid of UMDs? Even if you only watch them once, £11.99 for 2 movies and free delivery has to be a good deal. Now to make my choice...White Chicks, Kung Fu Hustle, Hitch - the list goes on! At least they are still selling them. There aren't many places to buy UMD movies at the moment, so buy one get one free on over 75 titles has to be a great deal; while stocks last. Remember, you can only buy these from the UK, as Play USA don't seem to sell UMD Movies which is a shame. Thanks for the tip Likkle Felix! Visit: [Play.com BOGOF UMD deals] |
