The Raise, a website dedicated to give proper information about Islam to PlayStation Portable gamers, has recently noted that they were able to demonstrate their Islamic Magazine, and their beta version of Al-Quran for PSP. They note that they plan to distribute their Al-Quran for the PSP free of charge, and add that their Magazine will be free as well. The group is based on 2 authors, 2 artists, 1 animator, and 10 volunteers from the Bureau of Information and Promotion, Usrah Institution, Multimedia University Cyberjava Malaysia. They note that they plan to release the magazine monthly. Below is an image of them during the application's launch: The contents of Al-Quran for the PSP was taken from http://quran.al-Islam.com. For more information on this project, feel free to head to the official site, via our "read" link below. If you're looking for other forms of religious content on the PSP, click here for another report of ours regarding the King James Bible on PSPs. |

As you all know, there's a new PSP-Islamic magazine on the rise called The Raise (pun not intended). It is now on its third issue and we have to say, it is really looking good, fun, and informative for a start-up publication. The first issue came out just two months ago. According to editor Momochi Zabuza, they refer to this issue as the "Pinky release" because, well, it's colored pink and a hot one at that. However, don't let the outer look deceive you, as we've mentioned, this third issue is very informative. It focuses on the sometimes not-so-okay relationship between media and Islam. Anyway, there are also articles about the Mosque, Muslim photographer Peter Sanders, and Father of Optics Ibn Haytham. The magazine includes an Umma Film video as well, titled Friday Prayer. Main article "Media and Islam" is going to be a three-part series that will run starting this edition then the remaining ones will be released in May and in June. The Raise administration would also like to inform you that on May 1, 2007, they will launch a demonstration event at De Seri Endon, Precinct 10, Puspanitapuri Putrajaya, Malaysia. It is going to be about Islamic content on the PlayStation Portable (PSP). So if you're anywhere near there, better mark your calendars. Lastly, the admin of the publication would like interested parties to download the files directly from them because in the past, the magazine was altered by one online site that caused PSP units to brick. The Read link below will take you to The Raise's online site. |

This recent Sony PSP print ad is far from controversial compared to that Sony Computer Entertainment Europe ad we reported a few months back. This one, created by Sil Malaysia from Kuala Lumpur, shows how to do sign language with your feet instead of using your hand. The print commercial may seem weird, c'mon what kind of physically normal human being would actually do sign language with their feet right? Maybe someone who just do it for kicks or has a lot of time in their hands or feet... Confused about what this PSP ad is trying to put across? |
