PSP homebrew - Image 1NoEffex has released his "mod" of MKULTRA, although he did recode a good portion of the actual engine, despite the "mod" name to the brew. He did quite a number on the app, so it ought to be worth a look.

PSP CFW M33 3.80 Network Update - Image 1A minor hiccup, guys. Dark AleX's latest custom firmware was supposed to hit today, however, we've been getting reports that it could be delayed.

Mathieulh and Ketchup shed light as to why Team M33 won't be releasing CFW PSP 3.80 M33 just yet. Read more to hear the full story.

Update 2: bug found, DAX calls it a night, released soon, MAYBE.

Nanodesktop tools - Image 1 Filippo Battaglia has released version 0.2 of his library for Windows, Linux, and PSP - the Nanodesktop. Just to give you a bit of what's it all about, this app will easily let developers write homebrew for the PSP homebrew Emulator for Windows (PSPE) because it hides many of the hassling parts of programming in the PSPE environment.

Aside from that this will also take care of the differences between C code for PSP3 homebrews and for PSP homebrew - ergo homebrew devs could write a program in C code and run it on PSPE. For more info on how to use this useful tool, check out the app's PDF manual that comes with the download. Anyhow, here's what's new with this release.
  • Introduced NanoTile video acceleration;
  • Introduced code deviation: it guarantees the compatibility of our modified PSPSDK with not Nanodesktop applications;
  • ndDevIL has been updated on base of 1.6.8 RC2 version of DevIL , integrating new bug fixes;
  • Introduced n different scopes in Nanodesktop library;
  • Introduced KSU (Kernel Services to User) mode;
  • Introduced Raw-IR code in Nanodesktop_HAL;
  • ndHighGUI has been rewritten to ensure fastest rendering;
  • ndHighGUI now supports new error manager system;
  • Makefile_PSPE.mak and Makefile_PSP.mak has been updated to ensure less compilation troubles;
  • Fixed a trouble in WMI routines that caused a crash when a WinMenuItem had a ZString different from its NameItem;
  • Introduced ndHAL_XFPU wrapper that provides trasparent mathematical acceleration support;
  • Written new cvSumPixels.cpp, with Ultra Fast Integration for faster performances in objects recognition;
  • Memory manager (malloc and free) now is very faster;
  • Fixed a trouble in windows maximization/minimization under PSP.
  • Introduced ndHAL_GetPad_Analog for using PSP pad in analog mode

PMP Mod AVC

Raphael's nostalgic recount of how the PMP Mod has turned into what we now know as PMP Mod AVC will surely send loyal followers of this media application tumbling down memory lane. He referred to his post as a "malloc revival" version of PMP Mod, and inevitably lead to how Malloc was the first one to mod Jonny's original and how in turn, that got him started on his own mods.

We're pretty sure that you already have an idea on what changes have been made throughout the years, so I'll spare you the lengthy changelog. And the latest of these changes will also be added to the standard version PMP Mod 2.02, after polishing some more details.

As a reward for reading this article about memories and reveries, we're giving you Raphael's latest FontGen v.06, and as he explains on his post, "It adds back all Windows codepages from 1250-1258. This was necessary, because some of the ISO8859 fonts weren’t compatible with subtitles generated in windows and led to wrong output of the subtitles (cyrillic for example)."

Thanks Raphael for the tip!
