Homebrew developer animefreak345's PS-Coverflow (previous version here) is finally updated, packed with new sets of features such as an image viewer, and added visual elements like a visualizer and progress bar. It's quite a hefty update, so if you're using your PSP as a music player it's worth giving a shot. The changelog in the full article.Download: PS-CoverFLow 3.0 Visit: QJ PSP Development Forums |

There's potentially big news in blowing in today, and it comes straight from the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Apparently, Sony's been demonstrating the "next level of disc copying" to a curious audience and successfully transferred an entire Blu-ray movie as a lower-res version to a PlayStation Portable's memory stick. More on that at the full story. |

The current generation of consoles on the market today are powerful machines and carry a lot of features so sometimes it's a little hard to keep track of what they can do. Here's one feature a lot of you may not have been aware of but may find useful: you can stream media (music, video, photos) from your PC to your PS3 and then using Remote Play, stream it to your PSP. In effect, you get to watch and listen to media from your PC from anywhere with a Wi-Fi hotspot. Find out how to connect these devices in the full article. |

Those who are into gaming just for the stories can check out AQ
Interactive and ChunSoft's "sound novel" Anato Wo Yurusanai (I Won't
Forgive You), and according to the latest TV spot for this sound novel,
it promises to provide more entertainment compared to just reading
plain black text over white background. This short TV ad shows a row of women reading, with one of them blissfully poring through Anato Wo Yurusanai in her PSP, reading as well as playing at the same time. Hmmm... It sounds an awful lot like playing through Phoenix Wright. |

Thanks to a tip we picked up from reader Arnout, we're reporting that homebrew developer cooleyes has just released build 20071031 of the PMPlayer AdVanCe media player application. This app, in case you're a first time reader, will enable you to play PMP format files on your PSP. As of build 20071027, PPA also supports the video out feature on PSP Slims running on Custom Firmware 3.71 M33. As for the rest of the (Google) translated change notes:

Developer TJcrazy has just launched the E-buddy Live Portal. This homebrew gives users an easy way of accessing the PSP-E-Buddy site from a Windows Live Messenger Portal. All in all, this is a pretty comprehensive portal which should make browsing much more fun. In case you get tired of messaging your friends, games and applications from the QJ Portal were transferred over including favorites such as PSP Simon, Roobix, Copter, and even Tetris. It also includes ICDraw, Image-viewer, a text file reader, and a Flash Media Player. This is the first version of the program and we can expect even better things from this project. TJcrazy has given word that he plans to release at least one more program at a later date. Installing and using the program is pretty straight-forward though it's still advisable to go over the documentation before doing anything.
