PSP Homebrew - Image 1Mooser has just posted an update for Ontgem, his email application for the Sony PSP, over on our PSP Development forums. This latest update adds an SMS messaging feature and bumps Ontgem up to version 0.02.

Ontgem is, as stated earlier, a simple email application for the Sony PSP handheld system. Mooser coded this homebrew app in LUA, and it uses Youresam's netlib as well as Cancan's port of Danzel's Danzeff OSK. Here are some of the controls that aren't displayed in the app:
  • Save (needs to be done in order to send) - Select button
  • Back - Start button
You can download Ontgem v0.02 by clicking on the download link below. For bug reports, comments, and suggestions, don't hesitate to discuss this release on QJ's PSP Development forums by clicking on the Visit link below.

Super Flasher is another flashing application for PSP - Image 1Yesterday, we shared with you an alternative application to flash your PlayStation Portable (PSP) units. It's called Lua Flasher and was coded by splodger15. Some of you mentioned that there are a lot more stable apps out there, but as we said, it's good to have alternatives.

With that, allow us to inform you that homebrew developer mooser dropped by the QJ Forums a while ago and released a different flashing application, Super Flasher. Just like most applications of this nature, Super Flasher allows you to flash background, font, gameboot, bootsound, and icons to your PSP. If you want to give this a try, download the file and access the readme to get the installation guide.

Even though some of you are quite familiar now with flashing, please remember that there's always the chance, however small, of bricking. So please browse through the readme file a couple of times and follow the steps strictly.
