Despite the lackluster appeal of movie adaptations of video games, super Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer remains positive that one day, they just might get it right. And it won't suck the living daylights out of us anymore.

Judging by the comments on that Metal Gear Solid movie post a while back, it seems a number of you guys like the thought of Christian bale playing Solid Snake. Got some bad news for you though (and good news for those who didn't want him in the movie): Bale says he hasn't been approached about the Metal Gear Solid movie.

Get ready for some thumb thumping action as Harmonix, MTV Games and EA has just announced that Rock Band: Unplugged for the PSP will be released in the UK next month. It's not the same release date as the one they announced last time, though.

With the June 26 launch of the second Transformers movie looming closer day by day, attention turns to the accompanying video game, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, DS, PS2, PC), from Activision, which opened a demo in NYC last week. Now we've got word that the publisher is planning to offer more characters for the game as DLC.

Yet again, we hear from John Koller. He's been everywhere since yesterday. He already said that he wanted Ready At Dawn back for PSP development, and now, it looks like he doesn't want to let go of Rockstar Games too. Well, who wouldn't? Koller reveals that there are talks to get Rockstar back into PSP development for another GTA game (which gives the GTA: San Andreas Stories rumor some backing). In other Rockstar-related matters, he also reacts to GTA4's Xbox 360-exclusive DLC and the release of GTA Chinatown Wars on the DS.

Excited about Resistance: Retribution, especially after all those sweet features Sony promised? Yeah, me too! If you're into multiplayer modes, however, this news might dampen that excitement a little bit. Tiny. Okay, a bit bigger, maybe. The unfortunate news: Retribution's sync-ing capability with the Sixaxis does not extend to multiplayer. Why, oh why? Find out after the jump.

What is the Infected Mode in Resistance: Retribution really? Is it really just an added bonus feature for those who have both Retribution and Resistance 2, or is it actually a US$ 60 cheat code? The Super Bowl is one of advertising's biggest days, and major manufacturers find themselves jockeying between themselves who gets spots for the Super Bowl commercials. When asked by MTV Multiplayer about their plans of getting into the Super Bowl ads, Microsoft has none, Nintendo hasn't responded, and Sony pointed this one out: the PSP makes an appearance in the Coca-Cola Super Bowl commercial. Talk about some real air time.

UGO is not the bad guy in all this 1UP sale drama, this according to CEO J Moses. "How am I a bad guy?" Moses said in a phone interview with MTV Multiplayer. From his perspective, his company did no harm to 1UP. In fact, they saved it.

It's official. Ziff Davis has sold 1UP to UGO Entertainment and has closed EGM. This was confirmed by no less than an official press release from both camps earlier today. The axe has fallen, and it's fallen hard. GameVideos.com and others take the hit as well. Full details right after the jump.
