NJ has released an update for the recently released build of MVSPSP, his NeoGeo MVS Emulator for the PSP. As the name of his update states, MVSPSP v2.3.0 now has a fix for King of Fighters 2003, allowing it to run properly on the emulator. Here's the post from NJ, translated through Google Language Tools: EBOOT.PBP3 species and source code difference. EBOOT.PBP only because of the following: 2.3.0 Each of the files to download, please use the override. 2.3.0 is compatible AdHoc and rendering software rendering in conjunction with the memory usage is increasing, thanks, but Experiment for private building, the per absolutely consider it. 2.2.4 these features are not just like me, so you use, or 2.3.0 AdHoc to disable, RELEASE flag to enable the compilation would slightly increase the available memory. 2.2.4 is generally safe for the creation of the 2.3.0 is like, for an experiment by adding code and the code itself is old.
Using the API did not AdHoc and implementation of the samples to the public only in the update is performed.
Remodeling and corrections are welcome, so please do continue. In any event, here's the latest version of MVSPSP, along with the source codes. Take care with the installation of the application, and enjoy this handy emulator! Download: MVSPSP v2.3.0 kof2003 fix |

With the month of October ending in a couple of days, it looks like developer NJ has decided to do some last-minute updating. The coder has just released version 2.3.0 of all of his homebrew emulators (CPS2PSP, CPS1PSP, MVSPSP, and NCDZPSP) along with a new set of updates. For those asking, CPS1PSP and CPS2PSP are emulators that allow you to play games originally run on the Capcom Play System 1 and 2 arcade boards on your PSP. MVSPSP will run games originally meant for the NeoGeo MVS, while NCDZPSP will run games from the NeoGeo CD console. Moving on, here's NJ's latest changelog (translated via Babelfish) since version 2.2.3:

PSP homebrew emulator enthusiast Akop Karpetyan (uberjack, to some) previously released a PSP port of neopop_uk's NeoPop Emulator. As it stands now, a new update to the initial release of the NeoPop PSP emulator has been rolled out. While this current release of the NeoGeo Pocket and Pocket Color emulator doesn't have a long bulleted list as a changelog, the solitary item on the readme is still a very substantial change indeed:

Instructions are easy to follow, and this convenient application allows you to specify which firmware you've got so it can place the emulators in the right folders. To include BIOS files necessary for certain emulators during installation (BIOS files are not included in this release, users will have to get those themselves), just leave them in the same directory where this app's installer is located. Just make sure to tag them with these file names: The download is already loaded with various emulators, but again, BIOS files are not in the package. To find the installation instructions and more pertinent info about Emulators Easy Installer from Mahfood1990, check out the actual release thread by heading over the Visit link below. Proving to everybody that he is back in the saddle again, NJ has also updated his SNK NeoGeo emulator for the PSP, MVPSP. It's a good thing that he's back in spite of the reports months back that he's released the final versions of his emulators. Anyhow, his SNK NeoGeo emulator for the PSP, MVPSP, is now in v1.7.0, and we could only hope that the updates just pours in, just like old times. Here's what NJ has to say about the release, courtesy of the not-so dependable Google translate. Also the source code is attached. It is the finite difference for njemu_source_20061225.zip. After the superscribing, please compile.

It's not like we don't have NES emulators for the PSP. PSP users have had the feature-packed Snes9xTYL and NesterJ emulators for quite some time but that doesn't mean another NES emulator isn't welcome - after all, there hasn't been a new NES emulator in quite some time.Today, Tinnus has released a proof of concept NES emulator for PSP, a module from his Little John package of emulators for PalmOS. The NES emulator features:
Well, why release a POC so early on? Well, remember the Little John package for PalmOS we mentioned earlier? Currently it emulates the NES, SNES, Gameboy/Gameboy Color, Sega Genesis/Megadrive, Sega Master System, Sega Game Gear, Bandai Wonderswan/Wonderswan Color, and the NeoGeo Pocket/NeoGeo Pocket Color for PalmOS - now Tinnus is planning on porting this to the PSP. That's right, in the future you should be able to play games from all of the listed consoles using just one emulator from the Little John project. We're quite excited about this and we'll be looking out for more releases from Tinnus. Stay tuned. Download: [Little John NES module POC] |

Heads up! NeoGeo emulators - or the US state of New Jersey">NJ just made another update to his recently updated source code for his Capcom Play System and NeoGeo emulators for the PSP: CPS1PSP, CPS2PSP, and MVSPSP.NJ sure is one hard-working dev, as the source code for CPS1PSP/CPS2PSP/MVSPSP has just been bumped up to version 1.62 recently (think: practically a day ago as of press time), and then boom! here comes another one. It doesn't have a version thingy label, so we're just writing it the way it's written in NJ's site (via Google translate, of course). Not that we're complaining though. NJ's masterpieces sure are wonderful, and we're utterly grateful that he's sharing it to the whole community. Anyway, if you're wondering what does this update has to offer, go check out the dev's notes below:

Elvis hasn't left the building yet, the fat lady hasn't sung either, and NeoGeo emulators - or the US state of New Jersey">NJ's apparently not through with MVSPSP, or so Jungle-Cat tells us. Although this is just a minor bug fix, and it only gets bumped up to v1.51, and he still says it's a "final release"; the dev is still quite concerned for his creation. Quite enough to update the last final release. Here's what NJ has to say (or how Google translates it):Because it seems that mslug4 does not operate normally it corrected. Because the memcard folder was not drawn up automatically, it corrected. At the time of DEBUG BIOS use it corrected the fact that the picture transforms. Already truly end. Above this there is no intention of attaching one stamp, is. mslug4 it freezes still? Once, it tried playing some time ago to the ending, but problem does not occur. Now trying, after all, it does not freeze. It is from the [wa]. When UNIVERSE BIOS is used, when WORK ROM TEST is indicated in the time of the first starting, opening one time menu, you close, (clears texture) with the test ends immediately. (Exceeding the texture size which the quantity of sprite guarantees, speed is thought just has decreased with substantially, but as for correcting with other BIOS influence it probably will put out to speed because is, leaving.) But this isn't the last we'll hear of NJ. Jungle-Cat also informs us that the guy's also released an update to his Capcom-centric CPS2PSP - also v1.51. He's also gone out and released the source codes to his three emulators - CPS1-and-2PSP and MVSPSP, (1.51.1), which means that others can get to tinkering with each. Okay, again the Readme texts are encoded in Japanese, and absent that language support for our word processors, we'll go with what NJ has to say in his site about the new CPS2PSP: When the ZIP data compressed file is used, you can use those of the time before that way, but because as for the non data compressed file type is modified, please do again to draw up. Please refer to readme_cps2.txt of converter. MAME abolishing the XOR table, if it becomes completely the cryptographic cancellation with CHD, because it cannot correspond with PSP, above this perhaps renewal it is not. Temporarily in the future how it becomes, watchful waiting.
