On Shelves This Week - Image 1Finally, a game that everyone is definitely waiting for: Madden NFL 10. We' have some lackluster stand alone games the few weeks past, but not anymore. Starting this week, you're finally gonna get all the field action you've been longing for. Not only that, this whole week of August 9th to 15th seems to well-represented, with various games sprinkled all throughout the different days. Check out the list after the jump.

Tales of VS - Image 1The PSP version of G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra won't be the only title that requires the elusive OFW 5.55. Adding to that list is the Namco Bandai Tales-fest, Tales of VS. PSP-ITA posted a screencap of the game's specs to prove it, so if the Joes can't get you to upgrade, then perhaps this one will.

GoW Chains of OlympusLast month, there was an Amazon deal for a PSP Slim. Getting one from them allows you to get one free game - it was either Retribution or MLB. Now, they're trying to drive sales for the PSP-3000 by offering a similar deal. The mechanics are the same, the choices, a bit different. This time around, the deal (active until May 16) is only in effect if you buy a PSP-3000 Piano Black Core Pack. Buying one lets you choose a free game from a melting pot of three Greatest Hits: either Kratos, golf, or blobs.

GDC 09 - Image 1The nominations are in, the tallying's over, and the GDC 09 Developers' Choice Awards have come and gone. The big winners this year were Fallout 3, which got the Game of the Year award, and LittleBigPlanet, which won in 4 different categories. The tail-end of the awards ceremony even had a little surprise in the form of a trailer for one of the most highly-anticipated sequels in recent years. Details after the jump!

thumb - Image 1The PSP started the year with a bang, and then it quickly cooled off. The DS never really peaked, but a constant stream of gaming goodness flowed forth. Not really a banner year for either platform, but there were quite a few gems. Oh, and one game seems to have clobbered the rest into submission...

Sony PlayStation Portable - Image 1While John Koller, SCEA's director of hardware marketing, admits that PSP software support has been dwindling steadily for the past couple of years, he believes that recent surges in the handheld's hardware sales will help boost software sales soon. How soon? Koller estimates that Sony's push for more games on the handheld will bear fruit by 2009.
