Here's The PSP Show #42. And for this podcast episode, you'll hear the Codemasters team talk about more about Heatseeker. The game's already been out in North America since a couple of days back, but Europe would have to wait a few weeks more before Heatseeker careens itself over the blue European skies. This podcast interview will hopefully whet your appetite in the meantime, while waiting for the game to land safely and fill your PSPs with much joy and action. Anyway, the interview takes up a full 14 minutes and 51 seconds of your time. So if you're really interested to know more about Heatseeker, you'd be glad to know that you can get the podcast interview right here. Oh, and the guys at Codemasters admittedly love their explosions, too. Right, then. Enjoy! Listen: The PSP Show #42: Heatseeker Interview |

The latest episode of the Podcast Network's The PSP Show is now out and waiting to assault your ears with some PSP news. The podcast includes some news regarding software and hardware sales in Japan, with the top story being Monster Hunter Portable 2nd moving over 750,000 units. Some guests also get airtime, with Brian Ibbot of TPN's Today in Music History giving a short review of his new Silver PSP (Ibbot says it's good as a backup unit, not as a main one). Mark Hunter, from TPN's The Mellow Monday Show, also introduces his new PS3-centric podcast appropriately called the Playstation 3 show. The podcast also touches a bit on the PSP-PS3 connectivity. And The PSP Show continues on with the show as it comes out with episode #34, this time featuring their review for Eidos' Chili Con Carnage. And that ain't all they've got to talk about. Also mentioned in the bit was the release of Monster Hunter Portable in Japan, and how well-received it was there on its first day. Anyway, if you find entertainment in bad jokes, then number one, something must be wrong with you, and two, well, you'll get a pretty healthy dose of that right in this episode. But all that's supposedly in context with the review. Cos actually, that's the kind of humor you'd get in the game: "grown, cringe-worthy, inducing humor". Also, they describe Chili Con to be an interesting toss-up of a Tarantino flick (b-movie, at that), GTA, and Double Dragon serving. Now, if you wanna hear more what they've got to say about it, hints, tricks, tips... then get the podcast right here. Download: The PSP Show 34: Chili Con Carnage |

MGS fans look like they still have a whole lot to look forward to, as revealed in a recent podcast by PlayStation Magazine (different from Official PlayStation Magazine or OPM)">PlayStation Magazine (their FIRST podcast, actually). This newly-launched podcast series is hosted by Playstation Magazine's Executive director Randy Nelson and Kojima Production's Assistant Producer Ryan Payton. PSM decided to start this new endeavor with a bang by having Ryan clue everyone in on plans for an MGS: Portable Ops sequel as well as the future direction of the MGS series over the course of a 37-minute program. Though Payton will be as close as we can get to the source for now (which is pretty darned close), we can't help but get giddy over this tasty promise that they're dangling in front of everyone. Now, all we have to wait for would be word from Hideo Kojima himself before we pop the champagne. |

GTAudio's first public premier was last week, and since then has been downloaded by the majority of our forum members who had high hopes for this podcast/radio show, and they were not left disappointed. Their first episode included an exclusive interview with the scene's main man, Fanjita, and this second episode is no exception. They have gathered an exclusive interview with another PSP "giant", Freeplay. With Episode 2, only the MP3 format will be available at first due to some technical difficulties, but you will be able to download the GTA version at a later date (beginning of this week). So, it'll be a few days before you are able to run wild on the streets of Liberty City (or Vice City) and listen to your favorite podcast. You'll hear all about ISO's (not how to install them, just discussion in general) and the interview with FreePlay. This is a podcast where you can add your thoughts, just pop a line to their e-mail. Also, those complaining about the audio issues last week may be glad to hear that this version sounds "sexier" (as Serideth told me) than last weeks! After having listened to a few minutes myself here and there, I'm impressed at how well their concept works, and I strongly recommend this podcast to anyone who wants to hear all the latest PSP news and discussions! You people should be happy that TPN's back up again, and now Ewan Spence's offering another serving of his *cough* famous *cough* podcast, The PSP Show. The PSP Show #25 will talk about - yup, you guessed right - Sony's Firmwares 3.00 and 3.01. Insights on the PSP and PS3's "connectivity" will also be given here, so you better pay attention. Games? The host says that he'll be talking about his - and I quote - "guilty pressure" that is Electronic Art's From Russia with Love. Interesting what else he's going to say about that game... If that's not enough motivation to finally click on the link and listen to the podcast, then maybe the promise of a Lumines 2 review next week would encourage you to. Come on. Click. Listen. It must feel awesome to have a character designed after you in a PSP game, or for any game for that matter! But while this is but a dream for most of us, Jonathan "Djon" Choquel lives it. Hot PXL's creator talks about his baby, and how it came to be. Prior to being tapped as Creative Director, Djon worked as a journalist, with two magazines and a podcast under his belt. As he used to write and deal with mostly skateboarding and street culture lifestyle, it then makes perfect sense that Atari and zSlide would think to make him the game's hero. His experiences with street-culture is greatly reflected in this collection of "micro-games". From the aesthetics to the photo-realism to the street-influenced graphics, you know it's street. You feel it's street. And that's what makes this game so cool. It's fuss-free and really laid-back, while at the same time providing for some funky and challenging fun. For example, they didn't call the games in here "micro" for nothing! That's because they really are uber short. As in, five or so seconds short. Really darned short. And that's where the exciting part comes in. With so little time and so much to do, you better make sure you get it right in as little use of "lives" as possible. And getting the wrong answer per question ain't pretty, as you'll see Djon himself getting blasted. It's gory in a twisted sense, but the pixelated blood graphics successfully tones it down to something remotely humorous. Anyway, Hot PXL also allows you to immerse yourself into the not-so-typical day of an urban explorer. As Djon puts it, you can just "cross a busy street, customize sneakers, write on the griptape of a skateboard, take snapshots of street art, enhance a photo on a computer, play BreakOut on the facade of a skyscraper, scratch a vinyl back and forth... or simply chomp burgers!" Hmmm...well, ain't that the good life? |

If you remember some weeks back, we mentioned some super-ultra-hyper-mega secret launch title would be talked about in the November issue of "Official Playstation Magazine." A 1Up podcast mentioned that it might just be The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, since it fits the five-word hint of OPM, but then again, Cooking Mama Fatal Battle Deluxe would also fit the bill, so you never know what the truth will be. Somehow, we also mentioned that it wouldn't be Oblivion, so some of you may be just as confused as we are. Live in confusion no more folks, because the truth has come to light. Like it or not, the secret launch title was The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion all along. It won't be the same game you've gotten to know, though, as they will be adding new content to this version. While they haven't outlined all the new goodies for people to try out, they did mention that one of the intriguing new additions would be a new faction: The Knights of the Nine. What this means is that there will finally be a good faction to work for, giving all those who've always tried to be good an incentive to keep playing: the chance to become a Divine Crusader. For the PSP: On a related note, Bethesda is also coming out with a PSP version of the game, called Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion. We have yet to receive further word on that one. In the meantime, keep checking QJ for developments on these new versions of Oblivion, and download the podcast that confirms it while you're at it (it starts at 29:15 into the podcast). Enjoy! |

Since that news about the whole 2.8 exploit, including the whole "Hello World" business, things have been moving pretty swiftly in the land of the PSP. Luckily, there's The PSP Show to talk about what's happening now. For episode 18, they'll be talking about the Firmware 2.8 exploit, the loss of GT4 mobile, Ving Rhames' role in Vice City Stories, and a lot about Gangs of London. You can also pick up the podcast by putting "psp.thepodcastnetwork.com/feed" on your PSP browser and accepting the RSS feed for it. Anyways, this episode is 10 minutes or so in length, so don't mind the download time so much. Enjoy! Thanks to Dionysus for the heads-up! Download: [The PSP Show 18] [PSP Feed] |
