One word for this post: Poisonhzkj. You'll probably know the name, because the developer behind it was responsible for delivering the CXMB plugin to the last Custom Firmwares prior to 4.01. Well, would you know that coder Miriam took the plugin and updated it so that CXMB v4.0 would allow the use of unofficial XMB themes in CFW 4.01 M33? If you care to know more, you know where to go. For first timers, that's the "read more" link below.Download: CXMB plugin v4.0 for CFW 4.01 M33 |

Homebrew developer poisonhzkj's CXMB plugin v3.1leaves less room for bricking with its "flashless" XMB changing capability. After catering to the 3.71 and 3.90 custom firmware community, CXMB version 3.1 has now added 3.80 patronage in its latest build. More details after the jump.Download: CXMB v3.1 for 3.71 CFW Download: CXMB v3.1 for 3.80 CFW Download: CXMB v3.1 for 3.90 CFW |

There's a new version of poisonhzkj's Custom XMB plugin available. For the uninitiated, CXMB is a custom firmware plugin that allows for easier customization of the Sony PlayStation Portable's XMB.Anyway, this new release bumps up CXMB to version 2.5. It has 3.71M33 support, albeit to a limited extent. According to tests done by QJ.NET Forums member madsoul, the only things you can change with CXMB v2.5 without causing your PSP to hang are the background and the wave. QJ.NET Forums member NorthernFusion, meanwhile, reports that some backgrounds mess with sub icons. NorthernFusion also noted that testing was done using 3.60 custom RCOs. QJ.NET loyal reader Paul Lyons sent us a tip regarding the new build of poisonhzkj's pet project Custom XMB plugin or CXMB. This release brings the program up to version 2.31. CXMB, for the initiated, is a custom firmware plugin that allows for easier XMB customization.Unfortunately, CXMB v2.31 still doesn't come with a Readme.txt file but poisonhzkj has a couple of important reminders over at his personal page. First of all, CXMB v2.31 now provides support for: paf.prx/vshmain.prx/common_gui.prx, .res/.pmf/.rsc file, and 3.40/3.52 CFW. Aside from those, the developer also posted the following:

Homebrew developer and QJ.NET reader Archaemic dropped by our PSP Development Forum and informed us that poisonhzkj has just updated his pet project Custom XMB plugin or CXMB. It is currently on version 2.1 and several things have changed since the last build was released back in June.To those of you not so familiar with this program, it is actually a plugin for custom firmwares that makes it easier for PlayStation Portable owners to customize their XMB. This program is kind of different from all other similar applications because it doesn't make changes to the PSP's flash0. Instead, what CXMB does is redirect the resource path file to ms0: by hooking some functions and doing a memory patch. Anyway, the following improvements have been included to CXMB v2.1:
