PSP Browser Javascript Keyboard - Image 1PSP Homebrew developer Deerwings has posted his first app down at our forums: the PSP Browser JavaScript Keyboard. The app was written with Danzeff's Keyboard in mind, only Deerwing's app was designed specifically to be able to input text in a web browser.

Currently you can't access the keyboard while browsing through a page because the author wasn't able to replace the original OSK with the app yet. Deerwings describes his app this way:

This is a Javascript PSP keyboard that works for your web browser. [...] This javascript keyboard is basically an html page that you load with your browser, and then set as your homepage or load as a favorite as you like, in order to open up webpages more quickly and less frustratingly.

Here's the developer's notes:
  • Built-In Google Search button - Allows you to enter plain text into the field and automatically submit to Google. Get your results even faster!
  • Built-In Google Proxy - Allows you to use Google's Small Device proxy. Breaks up pages to fit on cellphones and other small devices. Getting out of memory errors? This may help!
  • Full QWERTY Keyboard - Includes commonly used symbols as well as letters and numbers, and a keypad for direct IP address entry.
  • To install this, all you have to do is unzip it to your root MSO:/ , (Or wherever you like) and then open your browser and navigate to file:/kb.html (Or wherever you put it).
Users are encouraged to read the help file included in the bundle. If you have any questions or wish to discuss the app, follow the link to our forums below.

That sure was fast. Heads up from Deerwings who has released v1.1 of PSP Browser Javascript Keyboard. Here are the additions to the app:
  • [It] now it has the ability to open pages in the current tab the keyboard is in, or work with the other two tabs without closing the keyboard tab as well
  • You can switch between tabs with Square + LTrig

Ultimate PSP v1.6 contains 150 Flash games, 29 applications and a link to JPJunkie's new forum where you can tell him what you think of his work and maybe suggest a few things that could be implemented in later versions.

Installation is easy and can be done in a few steps. But you have to read the included readme to sort the procedures out. Enjoy all the nifty stuff and the new forums linked! JPJunkie also says the forums will soon need moderators.

eBuddy releases PSP-friendly web messenger service - Image 1

QJ.NET reader Someone_PR sent us an email regarding the new build of eBuddy Mobile especially designed for PlayStation Portable users. For those who are unaware of this service, eBuddy is actually a web and mobile messenger capable of supporting instant messaging services such as MSN, Yahoo, AIM, and MySpace among others.

According to the company, the decision to come up with the PSP-friendly version was because of the steady rise of chatters who access the service through the Sony handheld. The current release is still in beta build but even so, a handful of features have already been incorporated to it.

Speaking of which, the new version of eBuddy Mobile comes with full emoticon support as well as a wide array of language compatibility: English, Deutsch, Espanol, Francais, Magyar, Italiano, Arabic, Nederlands, Portugues and Pt. Brasileiro. It was said that more languages will be added in future versions.

If you want to know more, you can refer to the Source link below for more information. But if you are familiar with the drill, go ahead and point your PSP browser to m.ebuddy.com to access the service. No download will be required and it is free to use.

Some clarifications on bricking, licenses, and CFW 3.52 Update #3 - Image 1This next one is a LITTLE clarification about what has transpired the last 24 hours concerning Team M33's newest release, CFW 3.52 Update #3. Apparently, the program has refused to work and, in more serious incidents, have bricked a number of PSP units because of issues with some sites and the program's license.

QJ.NET reader MikeyMike01 sent us the information below in the hope that all misunderstandings and issues will be resolved. Here's the message, verbatim:
  • Going to, or having gone to "Criminal" Sites does not, and cannot cause a brick.
  • Upon completion of installation, one can still visit "Criminal" Sites
  • The ONLY code implemented by team M33 is one that checks to make sure that the MD5 is the correct one. Any editing of the installation (Including ICON0, etc.) done will result in a non-functional bricked PSP. Any files on "Criminal" sites have been edited, and thus are causing brickage.
  • The one hosted here on QJ is not an intentional bricker, which does not carry any higher risk of bricking than any other CFW install (Next to none)
That clears a whole lot of conspiracy theories and rumors floating around the interwebs, right? Lesson to be learned: be careful and check out readmes that come with anything you install on your PSPs. It doesn't hurt to be cautious.

UPDATE: MikeyMike01 has sent us another bit of information regarding the clarifications. Apparently, the tipster was referring to visiting the "Criminal" sites using a PC (bricking your PSP because you visited a site on your PC is quite absurd). According to MikeyMike01, in case you did visit the Criminal site on your PSP browser, "you still have to delete your ms0:/SYSTEM/BROWSER folder".

Killzone: Liberation download pack is live. - Image 1

Great news for the Killzone fans out there. The Killzone download pack has finally arrived, and with it, the promise of an additional chapter, as well as the long-awaited Infrastructure Mode.

Chapter 5 is a free downloadable episode for Killzone:Liberation that covers the disappearance of squad sergeant Rico. Comprised of four missions spanning an additional two hours, the game has you running and gunning in an attempt to find out what happened to him. In addition, you'll also get two additional maps for multiplayer, called the Prison and Construction Site maps, as well as one-on-one action in Infrastructure mode.

In any case, here's the official word from Guerrilla Games on their download pack:
  • Infrastructure Mode includes 'Duel Mode 1vs1': take another player on in a head-to-head battle which will really raise the stakes. This new mode has been adapted for two players from the multiplayer format by using strategically-placed barbed wire to reduce the surface area of the combat zone.
  • New unlockable content: the Killzone: Liberation disc will link via the PSP browser directly to killzone.com. Successful completion of an in-game level will allow the user to access the site and access extra content. Players without immediate access to wireless internet can record progress direct to memory stick allowing you to download the content when you're in a wireless hotspot.
To download it, just use the in-game menu to pick it up. Make sure you've got a working wireless hotspot to download it from though. Enjoy!

Killzone: Liberation - Image 1

Good news, PSP fans. Sony's been sending out more Killzone multiplayer beta invites to the much-awaited online multiplayer feature for Killzone: Liberation. If you're a member of PlayStation Underground or GAP, check your inbox. Who knows, you might have gotten an invite.

Those who want to join in testing the Killzone multiplayer beta can head over to http://pspbeta.us.playstation.com via their PSP's browser. You have to use your PSP's browser since the site is configured to work only through a PSP browser. Reports say that the beta requires your PSP to have firmware 3.11 and, of course, a copy of the game.

Kudos to readers TwistyValhalla and Anon1mous for the heads up.
