Zx-81 has been very, very, very busy lately. In the span of a very few days, he's released the latest versions of PSPMSX, PSP2600, and PSPAtari in our forums, and now he's back for more with PSPCAP32 v1.1.5. And not a moment too soon, because the last version, PSPCAP v1.1.4, was released back in November. Here's the full changelog for v1.1.5, but all the important installation and other stuff is in the Readme, so don't forget to read that after reading this.
Update: Homebrew developer Zx-81 has just dropped by the QJ.Net Forums to let us know that his CPC emulator for the PSP, PSPCAP32, has just been updated to version 1.1.6. In this version, the developer added an "option to change the ram size up to 576k and PSPCAP32 can now run Symb-OS." Developed for CPS and MSX, the Symbiosis Multitasking Based Operating System (Symb-OS) is a multi-tasking OS that contains many useful applications and games. Those planning to use this application are strongly encouraged to access and read the Readme file first before trying out PSPCAP32 version 1.1.6. Once you've got him started, there's no stopping him, and it looks like Zx-81 is on a roll! Never disappointing the homebrew scene, the French emulation porting machine has came along to update one of his old favorites. With PSPThom being updated earlier today, Zx-81 has been working hard to bring us yet another great homebrew emulator for the PSP. PSPCAP32 is an Amstrad CPC emulator for the PSP that emulates the Amstrad CPC 8-bit home computer range (models CPC6128, CPC464, and CPC664), and it now features many new options such as the ability to save and load a distinct setting file for each games as well as other file management options. Here's the full changelog for PSPCAP32 v1.1.3 gold edition:

Zx-81 has released an updated version of his PSPCAP32 Amstrad CPC emulator for the PSP, updating it to version 1.1.2. This release is a lot similar to the updates in PSPAtari v1.0.4, with graphical improvements to the GUI provided by Shadow, with a couple of bug fixes and the addition of sleep mode support. Here's the full changelog: ![]() - Added icons and background designed by Shadow ! - Modified the UI to be able to use custom background images (transparency) - Sleep mode is now working (but only when you're in the emulator window) - Bug fix in danzeff keyboard (wrong key mapping) Now, with the danzeff keyboard mapping bug fixed, you can enjoy CPC emulation perfection, and leave your PSP in PSPCAP32 when it's in sleep mode! Just remember to only use sleep mode when you are in the emulator window! Otherwise you may awaken your PSP to find that it has crashed. PSPCAP32 comes packaged in a zip archive containing both 1.0 and 1.5 binary versions as well as the source code and keyboard files. Download: [PSPCAP32 v1.1.2] Discuss: [Forum Release Thread] |

Zx-81 from our forums has proved today that he can juggle two projects at once by releasing another version of his PSPCAP32 Amstrad CPC emulator for the PSP, bringing it up to v1.1.1 as well as working on his amazing PSPVBA GameBoy Advance Emulator. If you thought that v1.1.0 was the last you'd hear of this emulator for the PSP, you obviously don't know Zx. This emulator is back with a vengeance, boasting a huge speed improvement and better sound quality to list a few. Here's the full changelog: - New keyboard files from Loic Daneels (more than 470 games !) - Improve the sound, it's now much more better ! - The percent of battery left is now displayed in the emulator window - Add a watchdog to automatreturn to the emulator menu when the battery is very low (< 5%) - Add option to modify the "sound tick average" value (usefull to avoid sound distortion on many games) - Enter directly in the emulator menu on startup (instead of the CPC screen) - Bug fix in smooth image algorithm (resulting in wrong color display) - Other bug fix (sdl semaphore) and code cleaning You know the drill, and if you don't - where have you been this year? As with all of Zx's releases the zip comes packaged with 2 binary versions (1.5 and 1.0 eboots) as well as the source code. Download: [PSPCAP32 v1.1.1] |

PSPCAP32 was originally called as Caprice32, which imitates the CPC464 (which was designed to take Commodore 64 and Sinclair ZX Spectrum head on), CPC664 (with a built-in cassette tape deck), and CPC6128 (with a floppy disk drive) models to a tee. Download: [Keyboard Mapping Files for PSPCAP32] |
