Windows Logo - Image 1Want a handheld Vista? You can make your Sony PlayStation Portable look like it's running on that system with the Windows Vista Lua version 2, which allows icons to be added to the desktop for easier access. Homebrew developer pspman16 also included an MP3 player to boot, and it's up to you to learn about it by heading over to the full article.

Windows Vista on PSP - Image 1

Now here's an interesting idea from pspman16: since we already have the XMB Wave Screensaver for Windows, why not have it the other way around too? Oh yes, pspman16 has released a little homebrew treat that'll allow users to have a Vista wallpaper on your PSPs.

We already featured a similar Vista theme waaaay back in October last year, but because this one has tons more features in it, we just couldn't pass up the chance to share it with you guys. This is pspman16's first build of Windows Vista for the PSP and for this release, here are some of the features you can look forward to:
  • It features full memory stick browsing.
  • Ability to play Lua games.
  • You can also set a PNG image as a wallpaper and if you exit the game and re-enter it will remember the wallpaper settings.
  • USB mode activation while running the game.
  • Real time clock, actually displays PSP's time.
  • Delete a file on memory stick while in game.
Installation and usage instructions are all in the all-important readme file so why don't you go on and check that out before tinkering with your handhelds, eh?

Conker Mini

Despite it being a "furry" game full of forest animals and tree folk, Conker's Bad Fur Day is anything but child-friendly (it was rated M for Mature, in fact). It's got booze, great giant feces, and vampiric squirrel ancestors. Here in Conker Mini by pspman16, those who've played the original N64 game will see lots of familiar elements.

The previous version just had us walking around the forest and jumping and flapping a frying pan about. In this final version, Conker Mini is more playable in the sense that there's so much more to see and do.

Also, there's an EBOOT so there's no need to load it from Lua Player. There's four fully playable levels and a final boss (we won't give any spoilers). Least to say, it's an interesting ride, and can even be considered nostalgic by some Conker fans.

Conker Mini 002

It would be safe to say that pspman16's lazy days are over. He's gone around to making a follow up to his well received Lua coded homebrew of his version of Rareware's Conker's Bad Fur Day. Could it be Branin's influence? He shares credits with him on this one. And since we're on the subject of giving thanks, we're giving a big shoutout to Drew Pedersen for giving us the tip.

Conker Mini 001

Last time, he was so eager to get a BETA out there, that all Conker could do was stroll around. But, no, not anymore. He can jump and swing a huge mallet with a mean look on his face this time around. Squeaky and Zepa did a good job on the sprites. You'll also notice a newly added health and number-of-lives-left bar on top. There's also a very nice background music that accompanies Conker as he leisurely wanders around the forest.

Conker Mini 003

We're all looking forward to a playable game in the future. The pressure's on boys.
