VDrum v1.7 - graphics overhaul, guitar loop added - Image 1

Homebrew developer Xsjado7 has just dropped by QJ.NET PSP Development Forum and released VDrum v1.7. We really had fun with this drum kit simulator and we're quire sure you'll love it as well. It doesn't matter if you can't carry a tune as the joy of hearing drum beats coming from our PSP is well worth the time of installing Xsjado7's VDrum v1.7.

Anyway, while several new additions have been added to version 1.7, Xsjado7 is asking users for feedback and positive criticisms to further improve VDrum. Here are the changes made to this build:
  • Added the ability to play a guitar loop while your playing
  • Added ride, bass and rimshot, removed 2nd tom
  • Redid all the graphics with help from ChristianDeluxe
  • Changed hihat, snare and bass sounds
  • Added combinations picture
  • Added an snd0.at3
VDrum v1.7 comes with its own Readme.txt file which will provide you with information regarding control scheme as well as other instructions from the developer. Browse through the documentation first to fully enjoy this wonderful program.

QJ.NET would like to thank ro0kie42 for the tip!

1337bells - Image 11337bells - Image 2

Remember Winterbells? Last Christmas, youresam gave us a PSP version of the popular flash game. Today, ro0kie42's released another version of it called 1337bells. It still has the same gameplay as the original Winterbells, but with new graphics. Instead of a bunny, you now control a stick man. The bells are now red squares, and the bird that doubles your score is now a green mushroom.

The best thing about 133tbells is the cool death screens for the little stick man (check out the screenshots below for a look at two of them). Here's what the dev has to say about it:

See, you get a rank based on your score and if it's bad score, it actually insults you (it's pretty funny) followed by the animation of the death of your stick man (don't worry he comes back), but if you get a good score, you get praised, and you can watch as the little stick man pwnz up some other guys. i made the animations myself, and i think they're pretty cool, so if you think one of them is cool as well, you can hit circle again to replay the one you just got.

Controls are as follows:
  • d-pad/analog: move left/right
  • cross: initial jump (he jumps automatically after that)
  • circle: replay animations (i'll explain this later)
  • start: save and quit
  • L: turbo (you must hold it)

*THWAP* Snowball Wars!

That was the sound of a snowball whacking you in the head. Good times.

Well, it's only been a short while since ro0kie42 came out with the first version of Snowball Wars, but he's just released version 2.0, which is just as moddable as the first one, but has one new feature: individuality!

The three lives you get to use now have different abilities, such as invisibility, speedy throwing powers and enemy-slowing snowballs, and you can change between the three characters at will. He still hasn't made a real pause button (you still have to hold it down), but all in all it's a solid game.

Main application for angry gamers? Imagine you're Calvin from the Calvin and Hobbes comics and you're hitting Suzy, that girl you're always around during the winter season. Fun stuff. Enjoy the download, and you can access the readme after the jump!

Snowball Wars MenuSnowball Wars

When it rains, it pours. I know how cliche that sounds, but that's the best way to describe the current barrage of entries we're about to set loose. We now have a number from ro0kie42, and it's quite a cool one - both literally and figuratively. Snowball Wars, a game loosely based from Snowcraft, is exactly what its title says - a cold-blooded war in snow using snowballs as ammo; well ok it may not be bloody but it sure is cold.

Game starts out with you having three people to your side (meaning, three lives), and a single enemy to smother with snowballs. Once you get rid of the opposition, he'll immediately be restored this time with another partner out to shut the lights out of you. It goes on and on until, well, until you lose. Here are some reminders from ro0kie42:

Enemies can aim at you, at the same time dodge bullets; Your snowball fort is not invincible; Infinite levels -means you can't win, but you sure can lose - will probably get laggy once you reach level 10; If your player dies, it will automatically be replaced with another player who's just sitting around; You can't shoot if you're behind your fort; This game is VERY moddable - You can change the dimensions of just about anything, just keep the names the same; This game gets very difficult very fast.

Controls:
Hold circle to gain power and make your snowballs go further
Hold 'L' for turbo - makes you and snowballs faster
Analog Stick for moving around.
Hold 'Start' for in game menu (does not pause)

In game hud:
Turbo meter at bottom
Red bars are health
Green bar is power (for snowball's distance)

For Modders:
Bigger snowballs will move slower and charge slower, but will be stronger.
Bigger enemies/players will move slower, but have more health.
Smaller enemies/players will move faster, but have less health.
Bigger forts fall faster. (Don't forget you can't shoot behind a fort.)

We'll be putting up a post soon to detail how you, our dear people of QJ.net, could serve as judges to our coding competition. Until then, make sure you check this game and see if it'll get your nod. ro0kie42 wishes to thank Youresam for helping him out with this game.
