Over at our forums, JoshDB has developed a new way for PSP users to upload and share music. Rather than go through the process of making our own virtual server, the XMLister lets you upload your music to your own webhost.
One of the nice things JoshDB has also mentioned is a way to get free webhosting for the users who don't have any webspace of their own, as well as even offering a small portion of his to let people try out program for themselves. Download it, and see what you think. Here are the release notes for the RSS XMLister 1.0: Update Notes Coming Soon More streamlined XML editor v1.0 Large amount of bugfixes and UI customizations Faster code Saving of list preferences! No more re-typing all the header info when you just want to change 1 or 2 tracks You can now create new lists (no generation) with the XML editor v0.9 - Public release Various bugfixes to make public release safe What does it do? This program generates an XML list of an online directory that can be played through the PSP's 2.6 RSS Channel feature. It's quick and easy to use, it allows complete customization, and also allows you to load/edit existing XML lists, as well. How does it work? To create your own RSS channel, just follow these steps: 1. Upload your audio files to your webspace. Make sure you put them into an empty directory, there must be no index.html present. 2. Run RSS XMLister and choose 'Generate a list from an online directory' and input the necesary information. 3. Upload your XML file to your webspace. 4. On your PSP, browse to the XML file you uploaded. Add the channel and enjoy! Other Notes: The download is a .exe file. You can put it on your desktop or put it in a different folder. When an XML file is created, it is put in the same directory that the .exe resides in. In later versions this may be changed.

Just about everyone knows that the PSP's latest System Update is coming out tomorrow. Numbered 2.80, it's supposed to be having about two new features. And in case any of you needed a confirmation, we've obtained a couple of pictures from Comic Con during Sony's presentation. Here are the images.
The said update isn't what we can exactly call "awesome", but the RSS Video feeds will be a welcome addition to those who aren't very much into homebrew (is there such a person?) and those who have 2.71 firmwares (and the dreaded TA-82 motherboards). Still, I don't see too many people getting in on the upgrade bandwagon, homebrew enthusiasts (for obvious reasons) and 2.71 FW owners (for optimism on another downgrader) alike. Here's the official list of updates right from Sony's press release:
The other picture which we obtained is a slide showing the results of a survey which Sony conducted. Heck, I myself remember answering that survey a few weeks back, and I am looking forward to most of the features in that list. Let's just see how fast the Sony developers can work to get the updates out.

Sony has recently updated their Sony Connect website for viewing on the PSP. Content on the site located at psp.connect.com is available to the masses, with everything from cars to TV shows to game trailers available on the site in PSP video format. The amazing thing is that the downloads appear to be in ZIP form, but I guess that works differently when accessing it through a PSP than a PC, allowing you to download them in MP4 format. This update to the Sony connect website is probably in preparation for the next PSP firmware upgrade, which could contain Video RSS feeds. This would make sense as all of the content on psp.connect.com is organised into channels just for you! Whether you're a petrolhead or just a fan of the TV show Rescue Me, there's something for you to download and watch on your PSP throughout the holiday season. Thanks for the tip Pacos! MyTunesRSS is an application created by Michael Descher which allows you to access your iTunes library from any computer connected through a network. It's an easy and secure way to stream iTunes files over RSS to other devices, which in our case is the PSP.You can browse your library by album or artist, or you can opt to search for tracks. The app lets you create RSS Feeds or even m3U playlists from any album in your library. You can also download tracks for getting them on your Playstation Portable without a USB link. MyTunesRSS is pure Java, and as such, it can run on any platform that supports Java 1.5 and iTunes. Michael has updated the awesome application to version 2.1 (thanks oghs08 for the heads up!) to reflect the following improvements:
