Tetris turns 25 - Image 1There are three things that I will forever be grateful to Russia for - vodka, Maria Sharapova, and the patriarch of puzzle games, Tetris. Today, June 6th 2009, marks the 25th year after it was conceived by its dad, Alexey Pajitnov. Tetris is more than just a game, it's an institution, an icon, and inspiration behind the hilarious Japanese Human Tetris game show. To celebrate this milestone, Tetris rights owner Blue Planet Software plans to unveil a motion-based Tetris game later this year.

PSP - Image 1This is just absolutely crazy. Fine, it's not news, but... if you wanted to see proof of how popular the PSP is in Russia, here's a video showing two guys stealing a 4-foot PSP displayed in a street stand advertisement! Viral marketing? Hmmm...

PSP Extreme 3

Not to be outdone by the Germans on their recent release of the first issue of their very own PSP Magazine, the Russians have also released their take on the PSP Mag. Nobody here at the QJ HQ actually speaks Russian, but we definitely enjoyed the solid layout of the magazine. The choice of graphics is exceptional as well, and even if you don't speak Russian, you might still have a blast browsing through this lush magazine.

They currently have three issues of PSP Extreme Magazine out, which include the latest PSP news , cheat codes, wallpapers, reviews and more.
