Uh-oh. Square Enix is in trouble. No, they're not pulling out Final Fantasy XIII, though that alone would cause some major problems for them as well. Rather, they're being sued. Yes, Square Enix is being sued with a federal class action, claiming that Square Enix of America has "deceived 100,000 customers by not being upfront about fees and penalties."

We've got an exceptionally news-filled week for issue #65 of the QuickJump QuickPeek, thanks in part (a whole lot) to the recently-concluded GDC that happened in San Francisco. There were a lot of announcements and revelations, both inspiring and jaw-dropping alike. Yep, it's looking like it's gonna be yet another good year for gaming.

Tecmo has sent out invitations to an event at the Metreon's PlayStation Store in San Francisco where they're going to announce a new title this March 24. The invites didn't reveal anything about the game in question, except that it will be "the greatest "_____" game, ever!". Yep, that blank space is supposed to be there.

They may be closing their PlayStation outlet in the Metreon Center in San Francisco, but Sony is still pushing forward to promote its brands. This week, Sony will be all over a 14-screen cinema complex at The Oaks shopping center in LA, featuring of course, nothing but Sony and PlayStation goodness. More info inside.

After nearly a decade of being the one-stop shop for Sony gamers, the PlayStation Store in San Francisco's Metreon will be closing.

While this is practical news only for San Fran residents, this also means that we won't see PlayStation-specific stores pop up anywhere else if Sony's giving up such a prime location.

The figurative gauntlet was thrown at Apple's recent Let's Rock event in San Francisco. According to Steve Jobs, the iPod Touch is "the best portable device for playing games". That's a grand statement right there, but then again, if you're selling something you wouldn't be touting it as the second-, third-, or whatever-best gaming device, now would you?

Konami Digital Entertainment, or rather its division in America, rocked San Francisco with their blow-by-blow game lineup revelation kicking off from 2008 onwards. Fresh from acquiring assets to dip themselves into the casual gaming market, "creative hub" publisher THQ will now set out to raise the curtains off their much broader lineup of games for fiscal year 2009. And aside from tending some exclusive titles for the Nintendo Wii, THQ has a couple of mainstream franchises piled up for a comeback.
