PSP-3000 - Image 1Now that Sony has announced a price cut for the PSP-3000 in Japan, there will be a sizable gap between that and the forthcoming PSP Go. Problem is, there's still plenty of doubt as to the potential of the latter in making sales. Considering that the PSP-3000 can run UMDs, is compatible with existing accessories, and can be ChickHENabled, the PSP Go might lose a lot of attention to its older brother. What say you Sony? PSP Go - Image 1The "second analog nub" mantra has since become sort of a call to arms for a vocal portion of PSP users. When Sony revealed that the new PSP Go would still have only one analog nub, these dissatisfied users ranted and raved about what they considered a "stupid" decision. There's a reason for every decision, though. As for the lack of a second analog nub on the PSP Go, Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Worldwide Studios, says that they did consider adding it, but it was just too early in the PSP's life cycle to implement it now.

Video game technology lagging in Japan - Image 1A couple weeks back, we heard Ryan Payton expressing his thoughts that Japan was no longer the center of video game development. Today we hear how Sony Worldwide Studios big wig Shuhei Yoshida echoes Payton's thoughts, saying that Japan is starting to lag in its video game technology, especially when compared to the speed in which it's progressing in the US and Europe. Despite gaming feats like MGS4 or GT5: Prologue, there doesn't seem to be enough to go by with in game technology in in Japan.
