Alien Versus Predator - Image 1

The war between the Xenomorphs and the Predators rages on, and thanks to the combined efforts of both Sierra Entertainment and Rebellion Developments, we can easily take part on the go with Aliens vs. Predator for the Sony PlayStation Portable. It's time to use all the ridiculously-cool armory that all predators are kitted out with on those sneaky, double-mouthed aliens, and we see all the action in full with these new screenshots.

While the movie franchise itself is already quite old, the fact remains that the concept of the shrieking, spindly-bodied aliens duking it out with heavily-armored predators sporting dreadlocks will always be cool. These screenshots, which depict some awesome-looking gameplay of the title itself, is proof of that. The predator we'll be controlling looks suitably armed to take out a horde of Xenomorphs all by his lonesome, and the Xenomorphs themselves are still scary as hell.

One thing we'd really like though, besides being able to play as an alien in the game, is a next-gen remake of that side-scrolling beat-em-up on the arcade made by Capcom. It doesn't have to be 3D, just updated 2D sprites and more enemies to shoot at. That'd certainly rock.

Enjoy the screenshots!

Box cover of Sierra's SWAT: Target Liberty for the PSP - Image 1If you were able to play Sierra Entertainment's SWAT series on the PC, you can't deny the fact that it recreates a lot of great action our armored boys in blue go through whenever they go on a raid. In an interview conducted by IGN with the game series' consultant, ex-SWAT member Ken Thatcher talks about some the changes in the new SWAT game, SWAT: Target Liberty for the PSP.

One of the most obvious changes, of course, is the handheld version of the game will be a third-person shooter rather than the standard FPS that SWAT 4 follows. Ken Thatcher fills in the same role he had in creating the previous SWAT games, where he tries to make the operator's movement as authentic as possible.

In terms of the realism the weapons have in the game, Thatcher says that they were trying to get a good balance from the game's arsenal with real life weapons so it wouldn't look like every bad guy could be taken down with just one shot. He also discussed the fact that bullet penetration for SWAT: Target Liberty won't be focused on as much as the PC version. So if you think you can snipe terrorists behind wooden walls like before, then think again.

Because of the high amount of realism the game takes from real-life SWAT experiences and operations, there were some concerns expressed whether or not criminals will learn SWAT tactics from the information used in the game. Thatcher explained that this wasn't that big a deal, saying:

We are always concerned about how video games influences our fans but in this case SWAT: Target Liberty is very much inspired and incorporates the everyday roles of what SWAT officers are trained to do. The game in no way provides enough detailed tactics to train an untrained person. However, we do try to give some insight into the real life training process through the bonus videos included with the game.

SWAT: Target Liberty will be hitting stores this October 16 exclusively for the PSP.

Sierra Entertainment has revealed new videos for SWAT: Target Liberty, featuring authentic weapons you'll be taking baddies down with and snippets of the game's mission briefings. After watching the trailers, we'll have to say SWAT: Target Liberty for the Sony PlayStation Portable is locked and loaded with all the SWAT action you'll ever need.

Like other SWAT games, there's a plethora of weapons to choose from. The Benelli M4 Super90, Sig SG552 Commando, and other sweet firearms are present to make the gun savvy swoon. We see them being used a lot, while keeping tactical squad-based elements intact.

The Mission Briefing trailer gives us a glimpse at how missions roll in SWAT: Target Liberty. Objectives are laid out, and you'll find out which ones you nailed when the operation is over. Instead of more teasing, we'll just leave you with the video below.

The hunt is on with more screenshots for Alien versus Predator on the PSP - Image 1

Predator fans will be pleased to see these screenshots for Alien versus Predator as they showcase the Yautja hunting the Aliens (known as hard meat in the novels) in various locals. Slated to be published by Sierra Entertainment and being developed by Rebellion Developments, this game has some of the prettiest graphics we've seen in a PSP game.

This game has you controlling a lone predator, hunting hard meat with various weaponry including laser trip mines, dual shoulder cannons, and even wrist blades. The various thermal vision modes and cloaking will be available giving you an edge over the humans whom you'll presumably be able to hunt as well (aliens can see through cloaking and are just as hard to spot via thermal modes of view).

Aliens versus Predator really shines in co-op multiplayer mode where you and your friends can team-up to hold off waves of attacking aliens. Slated to be out this November, it looks to provide lots of gameplay for fans of the AvP series everywhere. While waiting, why don't you check out the screenshots of the game?

Aliens Vs. Predator screenshots - Image 1

Sierra Entertainment has released some new info on the upcoming video game tie in for the new Aliens/Predator movie. The Aliens vs. Predator game is currently being developed by Rebellion for the Sony PlayStation Portable handheld gaming system.

The game will be a third-person action-adventure title where players take on the role elite lone Predator with an arsenal of exotic weaponry and equipment at their disposal. Players can access advanced technology through the Predator's wrist computer, including Pred-tech/thermal vision modes and cloaking, to track, stalk and annihilate both humans and Aliens.

Both classic and completely new futuristic weapons such as wrist blades, laser trip mines and dual shoulder cannons will also be in the game, giving players the ability to eradicate members of the Alien race with extreme prejudice. Players can also go for co-op multiplayer mode to team up with friends wirelessly as they attempt to withstand hordes of attacking Aliens.

The game will also have an honor point system that'll evaluate the player's success based on how closely they adhere to the Predator's value system. The higher the honor achievement, the more weapon and armor upgrades available to the player.

The new Aliens/Predator movie is slated to hit theaters on December 25, so expect the game to be out around that time as well. In the meantime, check out these new screenshots.
