Word has come out that N+, the handheld remake of the Flash-based puzzle platformer N, will only be available in the U.S. This was confirmed to gaming news website Eurogamer by Atari.N+ revolves around a ninja named N who must run and jump his way across various levels, all the while collecting gold and looking for the way out. Once you find the level's exit, you win. This endeavor is made harder by having the clock against you and running into progressively more difficult obstacles. The game, which will be released for the Nintendo DS and Sony PSP handheld systems in November, will be created by Silverbirch. A level editor will also reportedly be in the game, letting players create and share their own levels with other players around the world. N creator Metanet and Klei Entertainment are also reportedly working on an XBLA version. |

Last March, we reported on the flash game N being ported to the handhelds - DS and PSP. Now we've got some new info about the cult hit now called N+.Atari and SilverBirch are set to join forces in this platformer-slash-action-slash-puzzle game, adding to it some cool features like a level editor, downloadable content, and multiplayer. Stephen Baer, senior global product manager at Atari had this to say:
N+ takes all the great elements of the flash game, from the amazing acrobatics to the simple-but-fast gameplay, and adds an impressive set of new features. With full support for wireless multiplayer, cartridge sharing ability, downloadable content and community leader boards, gamers will be able to settle, once and for all, who is the greatest ninja. New game modes were also added like the co-op and competitive multiplayer. Players can also customize their levels - using the stylus and the touchscreen on the DS - and share them with friends over ad-hoc (PlayStation Portable) and WiFi (DS). Plus the downloadable content is a sure-fire way to keep players coming back for more. We'll keep you posted on more info about N+, we're sure you're the all curious as to how the level editor will work with the PSP. News as they happen, so stay tuned. |

Atari and SilverBirch have joined forces to take one computer game to the next level. All 500 levels of it, in fact. A new version of the flash based puzzler-slash-action game N will be developed by the two
companies for the Sony PlayStation Portable, Nintendo DS, and Microsoft's Xbox Live. The game, now known by the name N+, is a puzzle-action game where players have to control a ninja who has 90 seconds to get out of a room filled with traps and puzzles to survive. The only problem is, he's always moving into another trap infested room. Poor guy. Still, it does give you some perfect opportunities to get your game on. With over a million downloads of the PC version, expect the video game to make waves in its new homes. In the meantime, you'll have to wait, as the game's targeted release date will be sometime in this fall. |
